Netflix's dark take on Sabrina the Teenage Witch isn't the only Melissa Joan Hart revival on pop culture horizon: Nickelodeon is reportedly in the early stages of developing a reboot of one of Hart's other classic 90s sitcoms, Clarissa Explains It All. All right, all right...way cool!
Variety reports that Hart will once again play Clarissa Darling, who is now the matriarch of her own (hopefully stylish) family. "Series creator Mitchell Kriegman is also in talks to return to write and exec produce. Hart will also exec produce via her Hartbreak Films banner, which she runs with her mother, TV producer Paula Hart. Nickelodeon declined comment as deals with both Hart and Kriegman are not done. The project, sources say, is in early development at Nickelodeon." The new series could possibly draw from Kriegman's 2015 novel Things I Can't Explain, which followed an adult Clarissa living in New York City.
Let's hope the new series brings back Clarissa's pet alligator — justice for Elvis! And of course we'll need something that matches the show's iconic opening credits.
