Maybe I need to start watching Riverdale again...

I haven't watched Riverdale since last season, but after seeing a promo for next week's episode I have even more questions than I thought I would. What has happened to Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica? Has this show pivoted away from teen drama to full on batshit insanity? Why does there seem to be some kind of Battle Royale/Hunger Games scenario happening? Is Archie in prison? And most importantly, is Archie into boys, because a brief clip in the promo shows him getting a big ol' smooch from Joaquin DeSantos (Rob Raco), who dated Kevin Keller in season one before returning to the show this fall.

The Internet is, obviously, losing their damn minds over Archie's gay kiss.
