Put your paws up, American Horror Story fans!

Ryan Murphy revealed the title of the upcoming ninth season of his hit horror anthology series, American Horror Story: 1984 on Instagram Wednesday morning. The clip comes across as a much more slasher-oriented story than previous trailers, though as we know, things can always take a quick turn on the often-bizarre show.

AHS SEASON 9 is called...

The trailer shows a masked man stalking a teenager who seems to be running away from him in some log cabin. It definitely evokes the slasher genre of the 1980s, when figures like Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger chased unsuspecting sexy teens to their impending doom.

Ryan Murphy is one of the busiest people in the television business. According to the trailer, AHS: 1984 will premiere in the fall right after Pose’s second season airs in the summer. Murphy will also be launching his first Netflix show, The Politician, starring Ben Platt and Gwyneth Paltrow in the fall. Murphy also announced this week that he will bring the queer Broadway musical The Prom to Netflix as a movie.

Aside from the trailer, few details have emerged about the ninth season. Recently, star Evan Peters announced that he will not return for the show’s upcoming entry, despite having appeared in each of the show’s previous seasons.
