Next month Netflix will debut its revival of Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City, inviting viewers back to Barbary Lane and a San Francisco that’s changed quite a bit since the days of the original series. Thankfully there are still a few familiar faces alongside several new ones.

According to Netflix’s release, “Mary Ann (Laura Linney) returns to present-day San Francisco and is reunited with her daughter Shawna (Ellen Page) and ex-husband Brian (Paul Gross), twenty years after leaving them behind to pursue her career.  Fleeing the midlife crisis that her picture-perfect Connecticut life created, Mary Ann is quickly drawn back into the orbit of Anna Madrigal (Olympia Dukakis), her chosen family and a new generation of queer young residents living at 28 Barbary Lane.” Yes, a cis actress is still playing a trans woman in the revival — but it’s Olympia Dukakis, so we’ll let it slide.

Joining Page as the new generation of Tales of the City queers are Girls star Zosia Mamet and Russian Doll’s Charlie Barnett, plus newcomers Garcia and May Hong. “This is more than just an apartment, obviously,” says Hong’s character Margot, to which Garcia’s Jake responds: “It’s where we grew into us.”

“I don’t really know how to describe it,” says Page’s character Shawna. “Everything that made me me came from Barbary Lane.”

Also featured in the trailer are guest stars Jen Richards, A Fantastic Woman star Daniela Vega, and Bob the Drag Queen — talk about an all star queer cast.

Tales of the City comes to Netflix June 7.
