Just when you thought you'd never see Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey and Phoebe together again, everyone's favorite Friends are reuniting for a two-hour special airing Sunday, February 21 at 8pm on NBC.
The special is a tribute to James Burrows, who in addition to Friends, directed other iconic series such as Taxi, The Bob Newhart Show, Cheers and Will & Grace. Hopefully this means cast reunions of those shows as well because god knows I can use Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally having a good old-fashioned kiki again.
Though Jennifer Aniston, et al have signed on for the special, there's no guarantee all six original Friends cast members will be breathing the same oxygen.
“I’m hoping all six will be in same room at same time, I’m not sure we can logistically can pull it off,” NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt told reporters during the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Pasadena on Wednesday.
Previous efforts to reunite the cast have fallen short, or on deaf ears, but Papa Burrows was the one thing on which they could all agree. The 75-year-old legend just recently directed his 1000th hour of television.
