Hope you're not tired of the show yet!
RuPaul's Drag RaceMikelle StreetFinally! After teasing what seems like the entire list of guest judges, BBC Three has announced when RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will debut on television.
Announced last year, the show is the fourth of the Drag Race franchise — the original Drag Race in the US is about to embark on season 12, Drag Race Thailand wrapped its second season earlier this year, and in Chile, the show is operating under the name The Switch Drag Race. Plus there’s more on the way with a Canadian version having been announced. And the UK already has a pretty stacked line-up.
While the producers have yet to announce the list of queens, the judges announcements seem to be never ending. While Mama Ru herself and Michelle Visage will take up their positions as permanent judges week after week, Alan Carr and Graham Norton will replace Ross Mathews and Carson Kressley as the rotating additions to the panel. On top of that though, there’s quite the lineup of guests slotted in.
So far the network has announced MNEK, Twiggy, Cheryl, Andrew Garfield, Geri Horner, Jade Thirwall, Maisie Williams, Stacey Dooley, Lorraine Kelly, Michaela Coel, plus Curtis Pritchard, and AJ Pritchard. Yes, a full slate.
All of this will hit the BBC iPlayer this October.
As of yet there have been no announcements of when the show’s eight episodes will be available in the US, but we expect it to hit WOW Presents Plus eventually.
“Oh my goodness, when they see this show, they are going to flip,” Ru said on an episode of What’s the Tee? about the new show. “And I predict we will be doing this English edition of Drag Race for many years to come.” Well let’s celebrate that.
And, for cult fans of Michelle Visage, the former girl group star will also compete this year in Strictly Come Dancing. We love a booked and busy queen.
