Rose DommuPrepare yourself for serious lesbian drama, because the first trailer for The L Word: Generation Q has arrived. In our first look at the show, it’s clear that this is a very different Los Angeles than the one we left behind when the original series ended in 2009.
As Carrie Bradhsaw once said: “Seasons change, so do cities; people come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart.” That’s very true for Generation Q, which will see the return of fan favorite characters Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals), Shane McCutcheon (Katherine Moennig), and Alice Pieszecki (Leisha Hailey). Joining them are newcomers Dani Nùñez (Arienne Mandi), Micah Lee (Leo Sheng), Sarah Finley (Jacqueline Toboni), and Sophie Suarez (Rosanny Zayas).
In the new trailer, we learn that Bette is running for mayor, telling a crowd of supporters that she’s ready to give back to the city she loves. From there we get quick flashes of characters old and new, a few steamy kisses, Alice on the set of her talk show (“That hiatus felt like a decade, amirite?”), and a reminder that “time’s up.” And it’s all set to Lizzo’s “Better in Color!”
“The L Word: Generation Q continues to follow the intermingled lives of Bette Porter, Alice Pieszecki, and Shane McCutcheon, along with new characters Dani Nùñez, Micah Lee, Sarah Finley and Sophie Suarez as they experience love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in L.A.,” says Showtime’s press release.
The L Word: Generation Qpremieres on December 8.
