Megan Mullaly reportedly took a leave of absence during from the final season of Will & Grace amid rumors of an on-set feud with co-star Debra Messing.

The NBC sitcom premiered the first of its 18-episode final season on Thursday butTVLine reports that Mullally, who plays the beloved Karen on the show, will be excluded from two episodes airing later in the season after she took some time off.

Although the reason for Mullally’s absence is unclear it comes amid rumors of a feud with Messing. Earlier this year fan’s took notice that Mullally and Messing unfollowed each other on Instagram. The pair have rarely been pictured together in subsequent social media posts for Will & Grace. Mullaly has since unfollowed co-star Sean Hayes on Instagram as well but still follows Eric McCormack.

McCormack downplayed rumors of the feud last month in an interview with US Weekly

“It seems crazy. It is crazy!” he said. “I think people worried about that entirely too much.”

He added: “The four of us get along like a house on fire, we always have.”

A source for Entertainment Weekly reportedly said that “tensions were building for a while,” which is why a decision was made to end the series after it’s current season.

Last week TVLinereported that the final season of Will & Grace are in the timeslot that was previously filled by Sunnyside on Thursdays. That show was pulled from air but will stream online.

An NBC spokesperson declined to comment  on the story. TVLine has also reached out to Mullally’s camp for comment.
