Back in July, pro wrestlers Kiera Hogan and Diamante were on top of the world after going public with their relationship. Now they’re on top for a different reason, as the two became the first out LGBTQ+ couple to win a wrestling tag team championship.

As the LGBTQ+ news site Out Sportswas the first to report, the two women took to the ring of the TWO Women of Wrestling two-part season two finale. Hogan and Diamante, wrestling under the names Fire and Adrenaline, respectively (very hot names, TBH), faced the Monsters of Madness in an epic, hard-hitting battle.

Fire and Adrenaline rejoiced together in the ring after pinning their opponents, but their celebration was dramatically cut short. As confetti rained down on the champions, three new women, including legendary wrestler Malia Hosaka, stormed the ring unannounced. While Fire and Adrenaline’s championship is safe for now, who knows what will happen once the next season starts!

The double-crowning was something of an upset given that The Monsters of Madness, also known as Havok and Hazard, had been dominating the league this season. Adrenaline and Fire only recently became a team but have quickly become fan favorites for their performance in the ring and their relationship out of it.

Back in July, the couple opened up about their relationship for the first time just a few weeks after Hogan came out on the final day of Pride Month. “When I’m with you, I act different. In a good way,” Hogan posted on social media. “I smile more and I laugh more. I don’t have to pretend everything is ok when it’s really not. With you, I can drop the fake smile ad put on a real one.” This is gonna make me cry!

Hogan and Diamante are one of just a very small number of LGBTQ+ couples wrestling together in the ring. Lucha Underground’s Sonny Kiss and Killian McMurphy are the other most notable example.

Congratulations to these amazing, blush-inspiringly strong women! For now, the two will take some time to celebrate as a couple while they wait for the announcement of the WOW Women of Wrestling’s season three premiere date.
