She will appear on Alice’s show on the series.
megan rapinoeMikelle StreetWell if you weren’t already watching, it’s time to get on it. Though the season started earlier this month, The L Word: Generation Q is about to start upping intensity with a few celebrity cameos. The first: none other than super star Megan Rapinoe.
Rapinoe is set to appear on the talk show hosted by Alice Pieszecki, played by Leisha Haile, named Alice. For fans of the original L Word, they may not be familiar with the talk show, as it is a Generation Q addition — really only maturing the storylines that had served Pieszecki as a journalist through the other seasons.
According to IRL journalist Trish Bendix, who was one of the first to tweet about the appearance, there is some flirting going on between Rapinoe and Pieszecki in the taping.
“I don’t love the segment because Alice is flirtatious with Megan, and I find that really gross in a journalistic setting, no matter the gender or sexuality of a reporter or guest,” Bendix tweeted. While it hasn’t been specified, we have assumed that Rapinoe is playing herself — hopefully she's not getting added to The Chart.
Rapinoe recently was named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the year and endorsed Elizabeth Warren for president.
The L Word: Generation Q airs Sundays on Showtime.
