She is a true stand-out of the season.
RuPaul's Drag RaceTelevisionMikelle StreetI'm not going to lie, when I came into RuPaul's Drag Race series two I had my eye on only two queens: there was Tayce and there was Lawrence Cheney. Tayce's "inches to the floor" wigs, and ability to always turn a look had me instantly hooked. That she was a true performer when she hit the stage only proved fuel for my fire. And Lawrence? Have you heard her?! Even RuPaul can't deny her comedic wit. I admit: I overlooked one Bimini Bon Boulash in the first episode or two of the season. That is not a mistake I plan to ever make again:
Crown her now!
Bon Boulash is really giving it all to us isn't she? She's giving us comedy, she's giving us looks, she's giving us performance, she's giving us body, and she's giving us empathy. We watched her lend a caring shoulder to queens in emotional times of need like Ginny Lemon. We've also, for all of the sometimes Cock Destroyer-ish affectations, turn out some extremely salient advice and perspective in confessional appearances. She is an icon, she is a legend, she is the moment. Did you hear her verse on "UK Hun?"
Throughout the competition, Boulash has made who she is (a vegan) and what she's about (talent) clear. Sure there's been some bumps along the word but in addition to showing herself as a stand-out drag queen, she's pushed a message of both positivity and inclusion. A failed reveal on the Main Stage was aimed at bringing the message of trans equality to the Drag Race runway. And even in the now-certified hit "UK Hun?" she kept that same energy in lyrics like "cis-tem offender." Truly a lyricist.
Honestly, I've been falling in love with Boulash for a few weeks now, challenge after challenge. The Morning Glory segment seemed to be a high point and then she kept ascending. Her Snatch Game, with the pitch-perfect portrayal of Katie Price?!?! CROWN HER.
In case you haven't noticed, this is now a Bimini Bon Boulash stan account. And honestly, no matter whether or not Ru pulls some godforsaken twist out of a hat that ends up sending our queen packing, it's evident by her success on "UK Hun?" and her appearance in a new Ava Max video, that she's already won.
