As long as Omander is still together we'll go with it.
Elite NetflixnetflixMikelle StreetIf you've been thirsting for another season of Netflix's Elite, you're in luck. After announcing last year that the show had been renewed for a fourth season, Netflix has now announced that it has also been greenlit for a fifth. This, before season four ever premiered.
In case you've been out of the loop, Elite is a murder mystery set in an elite Spanish private school. In season one, we meet our crew, half of actual-factual rich kids and the other half of kids who got in to the school on scholarship or assistance of some sort. On one hand we get some Romeo and Juliet, star-crossed lovers type of mess and then after a tragic murder we pivot to "who did it" territory. It sounds all very simple but it's in the characters that we fall in love.
Given this is set at a private school, this small group find themselves all inextricably linked, and continually build connections on connections with each other. Our favorite connections since the show's beginning has been Omander: Omar and Ander, two guys that happen to be dating. Omar is played by Omar Ayuso, an out actor, while Ander is played by Aron Piper, who is not publicly known to be queer. And they aren't the only ones: our darling Polo was a noted bisexual — though a bit evil and problematic. In addition, season three's Malick was closeted.
We don't have too many details around season four. All we know is that about half of the cast got shaved off as they graduated from school while the other half have to repeat their year. This group is joined by four characters, no doubt all underclassmen.
With the season five announcement comes the addition of two to the cast. Valentina Zenere and Andre Lamoglia. There is no indication of what their roles will entail.
