If there is one woman who has done her due diligence since appearing on RuPaul's Drag Race, it's certainly Miss Trixie Mattel. Since her first run on the show, Mattel returned for a second crown-snatching tenure, released a documentary, launched a music career, founded a makeup brand, bought a gay bar ... the list honestly goes on. And now, she's opening a motel.

"BREAKING: Palm Springs is getting a facelift in my new Discovery+ renovation series, Trixie Motel," she tweeted on Thursday. "Coming next year, the show will follow me and my famous friends as we cerate the glossiest drag motel of your wildest fever-dreams!"

According to information we've found online, the series is expected to launch towards the beginning of the year in Winter 2021.

"This is not a joke," Mattel wrote in a follow-up tweet.

In February, Mattel announced that she was the co-owner of This Is It!, Wisconsin's oldest gay bar. In addition to that business, she has hr ongoing partnership with Katya Zamolodchikova which includes their longrunning web series UNHhhh, their book Trixie and Katya's Guide to Modern Womanhood, as well as their The Bald and the Beautiful podcast.

Mattel is also one of a small number of Drag Race alum who have launched their own beauty brands. Trixie Cosmetics launched in 2019 and currently has over 300,000 followers on Instagram.
