In an emotional and heartfelt Instagram post, the Grey's Anatomy alum shared the news with their fans and followers, saying "Ryan and I are no longer together."
"We remain loving and supportive in how we are choosing to forge our new individual paths," they wrote. "Thank you for holding space around our choices and respecting our families’ privacy as we navigate this process on our own terms."
They then urged their fans to do something positive and help out/contribute to a plethora of charitable organizations like Black LGBTQIA+ Migrant Project, the Frances Thompson Education Foundation, the Rainbow Bridge Asylum Seekers, and others.
"In the meantime, here’s an invitation to focus your energies and attention on learning about, donating to and/or uplifting the work of these orgs," they said. "Blessings to all!"
Best known for their role as bisexual doctor Callie Torries in Grey's Anatomy and bisexual, non-binary political strategist/advisor Kat Sandoval in Madam Secretary, Ramirez came out as bisexual in 2016 and then confirmed they are nonbinary and use both she/they pronouns last year in an Instagram post.
