Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider keep on making TV gayer.

The creative pair behind one of our favorite comedies, The Other Two, have signed a new deal to create another gay and hilarious show for HBO Max. This one, however, is gonna have some serious edge to it.

The series is described as a “dark, psychological comedy set in the year 2000 about a closeted gay teen who constantly dissociates and imagines he’s a famous (straight) actor merely playing the role. That is, until he meets someone who upends his entire way of thinking.”

Not only does this sound exactly like the kind of drama we love to see, but it will be incredible to see the Y2K fashion, trends, and pop culture on screen once again. Bring on the frosted lip gloss and whale tails!

No actors have been cast yet, but the show is being produced by Kelly and Schneider along with Naomi and Adam Scott for Gettin’ Rad.

The second season of The Other Two started on August 26 on HBO Max. While the first season followed messy and horny siblings Cary (Drew Tarver) and Brooke (Heléne Yorke) as their little brother reached the heights of pop stardom, the second season sees him quitting music to go to college.

However, their mom (Molly Shannon) has now become a famous talk show host, meaning they are still “the other two” non-famous ones in the family.

The show has repeatedly been called “the gayest show on TV,” and has been praised by both critics and fans. HBO Max recently announced that it would be renewed for a third season.

Before The Other Two, Kelly and Schneider were the youngest co-head writers in Saturday Night Live history when they wrote for season 42 of the classic show in 2016, winning an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Series and a Peabody for Political Satire.
