Cody Rigsby and Cheryl Burke have been cleared to compete in-person again on Dancing With the Stars following their quarantine after testing positive for COVID.

“I have been officially cleared. I am back to normal. No more quarantine for me,” Burke announced via Instagram on Wednesday. “Unfortunately, Cody is still in quarantine, but he will be back in Los Angeles starting Friday — this Friday — which means we can technically dance on both Monday and Tuesday.”

Last month, Burke shared her experiences with the virus via a post to Instagram.

Rigsby, although fully vaccinated, tested positive for the virus as well and announced he was temporarily stepping away to quarantine.

“Hi friends, I wanted to check in with you to share some news,” the out fitness instructor and popular Peloton trainer said via Instagram last week. “While I am fully vaccinated and took many precautions, following CDC guidelines, I recently tested positive for COVID19. To properly rest and recover as well as avoid exposing others, I will be taking a break in the coming days. I appreciate all your support and I'll be back as soon as I am ready.”

The pair must be looking forward to competing in person after they had danced via Zoom in separate rooms for the Monday, October 4, episode of DWTS. Their virtual performance only earned 18 out of a possible 30 points, leaving Burke questioning the score.

“Look, the scores are the scores,” Burke told Us Weekly following the show. “It would have been nice — I could have accepted the sixes if they could have at least acknowledged what was done, what was being done here, you know.”

The pair hope to improve their scores when they (hopefully) compete in person in the upcoming episode of DWTS.

Besides Rigsby, the DWTS universe is chock-full of amazing LGBTQ+ representation this year. Gen Z icon and Dance Moms alum JoJo Siwa and her dance partner Jenna Johnson made history as the US show's first same-sex dance pairing, and continue to slay the competition week after week

Strictly Come Dancing, the UK's version of DWTS, is also seeing Great British Bake Off alum John Whaite and his professional dancer Johannes Radebe slaying the dance floor as the show's first male same-sex team, while the French version of DWTS also just got its first same-sex partners with Eurovision star Bilal Hassani being paired with dancer Jordan Mouillerac!
