We’ve finally seen the first look of Fodie Foster’s detective character from the much-anticipated upcoming fourth season of True Detective, titled True Detective: Night Country.
The new season stars Foster and Kali Reis as Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro working in Ennis, Alaska. When the six men that operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace when the long winter night falls, the two detectives “will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.”
The new season is written, directed, and showrun by Mexican filmmaker Issa López (Tigers Are Not Afraid). It also stars John Hawkes, Christopher Eccleston, Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett, Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, Isabella Star Lablanc, and Joel D. Montgrand.
The first season of True Detective starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Season two followed detectives played by Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn. Season three starred Mahershala Ali.
The new clips were part of a sizzle reel of new projects and seasons coming to HBO in 2023.
