The queen got candid during a viewing party at Roscoe’s Tavern in Chicago.
RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Ra’Jah O’Hara knows how to keep it real and has no problem speaking her mind. Currently, O’Hara is one of the top four queens on Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs the Worldafter initially appearing on the main stage for season 11 and returning for All Stars 6 of the American series.
Recently, O’Hara joined the most recently eliminated queen, Vanity Milan, at Roscoe’s Tavern – an LGBTQ+ bar in Chicago that hosts regular Drag Race viewing parties with high-profile drag performers.
The host of the party, Drag Race season eight alum Naysha Lopez, asked, “Did you guys at all feel there was any favoritism? We discussed this with Icesis [Couture] and she did. She said she felt there was, and that it really f*cked with her.”
“I don’t want to say that they were playing favoritism,” O’Hara explained, “but there was a little bit of some favoritism. One time I actually had to speak out about it. So it was kind of, like, it made me feel really uncomfortable.” She added, “I wouldn’t say it was favoritism towards anyone on this stage.”
Even though she is unable to disclose any further information – likely due to NDAs the queens have to sign prior to competing – O’Hara did elude that the scales were tipped to favor of Canadian queens.
Fans speculate that O’Hara referred specifically to Rita Baga, who’s currently the only original Canadian contestant left on the season.
Milan, however, joined the show for a completely different reason in the first place, preferring to showcase more of her artistry as opposed to participating in the competition.
“I understand it was a TV show,” she said. “I was there for me and me only. My redemption from season three into Canada vs the World was more important to me — and showing the world that I had something to prove.”
Couture, who left on her own for mental health reasons, said the week prior that production had asked her to join the cast to “help… keep the title in Canada,” despite her doctor saying she shouldn’t compete.
Tune in to the grand finale of Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs the World this Friday, December 23 on WOW Presents Plus.
