Get ready to go on a journey you'll never forget.

Showtime has announced that its highly-anticipated gay historical drama Fellow Travelers — starring Matt Bomer, Jonathan Bailey, Jelani Alladin, Noah J. Rickets, and Allison Williams — will premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime on October 27!

The eight-episode drama is created by Oscar nominee Ron Nyswaner (Philadelphia) and is based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Mallon.

It is described as "an epic love story and political thriller, chronicling the clandestine romance of two very different men who meet in McCarthy-era Washington."

Bomer plays Hawkins Fuller, a man enjoying a successful behind-the-scenes career in politics, and Bailey plays Tim Laughlin, the idealistic and religious young man who will change his life. Amidst Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn seeking out "subversives and sexual deviants," Hawk, Tim, and their friends Marcus (Alladin), a proud journalist and Black man, and Frankie (Ricketts), a drag queen who isn't afraid to be herself, try to find some happiness.

The show spans four decades, shining a light on true American history, including the Lavender Scare, during which thousands of LGBTQ+ people lost their jobs and hundreds ended their lives. It also shows the resiliency and joy that exists in the queer community, no matter how dark our history has gotten.

Fellow Travelers is a can't-miss show and is sure to make big splashes at next year's Emmys. Make sure to check it out when it premieres on October 27.
