This fall, Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Crashing) and Matt Bomer (The Normal Heart, Magic Mike) will be playing lovers in the Showtime miniseries Fellow Travelers.
Set in McCarthy-era Washington, Hawkins Fuller (Bomer) has a prominent political career and avoids romantic attachments at all costs. That is until he meets Tim Laughlin (Bailey), a handsome and charismatic young man who turns Hawkins’ love life upside down. Alas, their relationship starts right when Joseph McCarthy starts waging war on “subversives and sexual deviants” – a tactic meant to target LGBTQ+ people.
The cast of Fellow Travelers also includes Chris Bauer (Joseph McCarthy), Will Brill (Roy Cohn), Allison Williams (Lucy Smith), Jelani Alladin (Marcus Hooks), Noah J. Ricketts (Frankie Hines), Linus Roache (Wesley Smith), Erin Neufer (Mary Johnson), Matt Visser (David Schine), Christine Horne (Jean Kerr), and David Tomlinson (Eddie Kofler).
While we wait for Fellow Travelers to premiere on October 27, this feels like the best time to celebrate the two leading stars playing lovers in this limited series.
