There will be a two-hour finale episode closing the Sense8 series, and granting “Sensates” some form of much-needed closure and relief.
Co-creator Lana Wachowski announced today through a letter that the show will have one finale episode to end its series in 2018. Wachowski shares fans' disappointment about the show's cancellation, and admits she went through a “fairly serious depression” due to the abrupt ending. She gives her love and appreciation to the crew, the actors, but most of all to her fans, many of whom protested and spoke out about the sudden cancellation of the Netflix original series.

Not only was there a heartfelt letter written by Wachowski, but a music video was posted by Netflix on Twitter announcing the 2018 finale. The video has characters of the “8 cluster” mouthing words to 4 Non Blondes’ track, “What’s Up,” with the hashtag, “WeAreTheGlobalCluster.”

Sense8 was canceled after just two seasons, and the reasons are not clearly defined. In her letter, Wachowski writes, “It is my great pleasure as well as Netflix’s (Believe me, they love the show as much as we do but the numbers have always been challenging) to announce that there will be another two hour special released next year.”
And as Lana puts in her letter, “Thank you. Now let’s go find out what happens to Wolfgang.”
