Bravo’s reboot of “Queer as Folk,” has found a new home at NBCUniversal’s upcoming streaming service. There, it will join shows like E!’s “One of Us is Lying.”

Production of the new show began last December with Stephen Dunn onboard to write the reboot and Russell. T Davis, who created the original series, set to executive produce, alongside Lee Eisenberg and Emily Brecht.

The reboot is based on the 1999 British drama of the same name which centered around three gay men living in Manchester, UK and ran for 10 episodes. The original series starred Aiden Gillen, Craig Kelly and Charlie Hunnam. After, the show famously had an American version, which ran for five seasons. That edition starred Hal Sparks, Scott Lowell, Gale Harold, Randy Harrison, and Peter Paige and was set in Pennsylvania.

According to Variety, the reboot will be “ a modern take on the original British series that centres on a group of club-going friends who find support in the gay community following a tragedy.” News that the project was in development first broke in December.

The currently unnamed streaming service is set to launch in April 2020 and will be advertiser supported and free for TV subscribers. This follows other reboots of classic queer tevision classics like The L Word and Will & Grace. The latter was recently canceled.
