'Drag Race’s Disqualification of Sherry Pie Isn’t Enough

We aren’t calling for the season to be cancelled, but there is a cost to doing business.

TelevisionRuPaul's Drag RaceSherry Pie from Drag Race Season 12Mikelle Street

In an unprecedented move, this week VH1 and RuPaul’s Drag Racedisqualified a contestant on season 12 of the show before they ever made their official debut. Since Tuesday, Sherry Pie, whose real name is Joey Gugiemelli has become the subject of allegations from at least eight different men, who said that in an elaborate scheme, Pie got them to send her videos featuring the men masturbating and with sex toys, while saying she was a casting agent. In response, Drag Race announced they would “disqualify” her from the show, meaning she would not appear in the grand finale set to be filmed this spring. The rest of the show would air as planned.

But that’s not enough.

While it’s certainly encouraging that Drag Race released a statement and took decisive action quickly here, releasing a statement on social media and removing Pie from what amounts to one episode should only be the beginning. And while some of the more … extreme suggestions include scrapping the entire season — what about the other contestants?! — there is a middle ground.

The reality is that every second that Sherry Pie is on VH1 is another second that allows her to build her platform. And while one could theoretically just edit her completely out of the season, if she continues to do as well as she did on her debut — getting in the top two — that’s just not plausible. What happens when there’s group challenges? What happens when she has to lip sync again? But there is a way to edit around her, removing the queen’s talking head spots, as well as scenes and exchanges built around her that aren’t essential to the competition, putting that spotlight on some of the show’s other queens. There’s 12 of them so we’re sure there’s enough material that got cut.

In addition, the show need to make a statement on air. Whether it’s a text card, or something new that’s filmed for an episode, Pie’s disqualification needs to be announced on the shown in the same space that people watch her perform. Hoping that people will hear about it on social media is not enough; the network must be proactive.

This does mean that VH1 and World of Wonder are going to have to spend some extra money in doing a new edit but this is the cost of doing business.  Though it seems unlikely the production could have found this information out doing a routine background check — the allegations were only made public this week — they still have an obligation to do what they can to right things.

Also, according to him, he wasn't forced out of the race by the establishment.

Since he made his exit from the presidential race, one might logically be wondering: What exactly is Pete Buttigieg doing these days? Outside of maybe stumping for Joe Biden, and twiddling as he waits for a cabinet position, what does the former mayor get up to? There’s only so much Netflix to stream.

Well, he’s booking hosting gigs of course.

In a new interview on The Today Show, Buttigieg has announced he will host this week’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

“In the immediate term, we’re going to be traveling a little bit, thanking supporters and then Chasten and I are looking forward to some time away,” Buttigieg said when asked by Craig Melvin what’s next, following the campaign. “Then I’ll come back and make myself useful in new ways but we’re going to have some fun now.”

“On Thursday I’m going to be guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live,” he continued. “We’re lining up a great slate of guests; Sir Patrick Stewart is coming on, we’re very excited about that.”

So we’ll finally see Mr. Buttigieg make some solid jokes in the opening monologue?

“Hopefully some funnier minds than mine will be doing some writing for that,” he said. Play to your strengths, that’s the ticket.

And what about those allegations that his dropping out of the race came at the request of and under pressure from the “Democratic establishment” in order to pave the way for Biden’s eventual nomination?

“I felt the pressure of voters and of making a decision,” Buttigieg told Melvin. “We ran four contests and I’m proud of the campaign we ran but by the time we ran our fourth race, it was clear that the numbers weren’t there. You know, getting into this race was never just about becoming president. For us it was about working to unify the party and the country and it was about making sure we defeat Donald Trump and there came a point where I realized that the best thing I could do in the service of those goals was to step aside and support vice president Biden.”

So it really had nothing to do with pressure from anyone?

“The kind of people who run for president of the United States are the kind of people who make their own decisions and it was my decision,” he said.

Well that’s that on that.

DatingMasterchef Italia season 9 winner proposing to boyfriend.Mikelle Street

I think that the best place to begin any relationship, any conversation even, is from a place of honesty. We must shirk the feelings of embarrassment, and just level with one another. Think about it: you sit here pretending to be someone or know something that you don’t, and when the truth comes out you just end up looking like the dummy you are. So let’s start from a place of truth, and we can build from there.

The truth is I don’t understand Italian. But, much like Trinity the Tuck in RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars, “I don’t know what she’s saying but girl I am living!”

Over the weekend it seems that Masterchef Italia crowned the winner of its 9th season. And while that’s cause for celebration in and of itself, with the gay chef and art director Antonio Lorenzon from Bassano del Grappa (thank god for Wikipedia) having won, Lorenzon took the opportunity to crown someone else: his boyfriend.

In a clip that has since been posted to television, Lorenzon calls for everyone’s attention right before the credits begin to roll on the season. What he says, we aren’t exactly sure of but there’s a lot of emotions from the crowd, and then we some cues that are practically internationally known: a boyfriend on the brink of tears, friends crowding around and pushing him forward, and then Lorenzon squatting down — maybe they don’t get on one knee in Italy, or maybe there was too much confetti on the floor, we aren’t sure.

It’s a proposal ladies and gentlemen!

And from the photos we’ve seen on Instagram, it’s clear that the boyfriend, Daniel, who has been cheering Lorenzon along onscreen during the season, said yes.

PornBruno from Bravo's Below Deck is getting into porn.Mikelle Street

The line of reality stars going into adult content continues. The latest: Bruno Duarte from Bravo’s Below Deck. If you don’t know much about Duarte, here’s the quick and dirty: he’s from Portugal, and got his start in hospitality there. Before long he was working cruise ships , where he eventually found himself as a cast member of Below Deck in season five. And for a while, no one knew he was gay, mostly because they didn’t ask.

“The thing is production didn't ever know my sexuality because they never asked,” Duarte said in an interview. “Their plan was to put me together with girls and hook me up with girls from the interior, and I wasn’t interested at all. Whether it was boys or girls, I was just not interested.”

The possible reason? Bruno already had someone, his boyfriend José Lopes that he got engaged to in 2017. And, if anyone is wondering how that is going, well the pair are about to release a scene for COLT Studios soon!

“I am a huge fan of Below Deck and a friend of mine was on the show as a guest and on that episode, I saw Bruno in his red, starred swim suit where he has to be a table decoration during a ‘Naked Sushi’ dinner,” COLT director and owner John Rutherford said in a release. The scene is pretty infamous at this point. “I had written him on [Instagram] telling him I was a big fan and thought he looked great.  We stayed in touch and because Bruno and Jose live in the South of France, so we met up in Paris and decided to do a photo shoot and video with them both. We wanted it to be erotic and intimate…. The rest is history, as they say.”

The film will appear in the “COLT Man” series and the couple will also appear in the 2021 COLT Couples Calendar.

"Since our conception back in 1967, COLT has always been synonymous with hairy, masculine men in our annual COLT calendars, magazines and movies," Rutherford said. "Bruno and Jose are all that and a real-life couple to boot…. Their scene sizzles.  I’ve seen the footage and it is like the viewer is a fly on the wall watching the two COLT Men getting it on without knowing anyone is watching.” Footage is expected to release this summer.

Well then!

And yes, if you were wondering, Duarte does have an OnlyFans.

Netflix's 'Love Is Blind' Probably Won't Get an LGBTQ+ Version Soon

A showrunner cited "logistical difficulties in the current setup."

DatingLove is Blind starsMikelle Street

Love Is Blind, the new dating show on Netflix, took over social media like a storm. The premise is simple .. and chaotic: put a group of single (mostly attractive) adults into a house, divided by gender. Let them date one another without ever seeing who they are dating and force them to propose to the ones they fall in love with, without ever meeting face-to-face. Oh, and do this within days.

Then, over the next three weeks, put them on a little honeymoon where they finally meet, and move them in together, forcing them to adjust to their lives while also planning for their wedding. Record everything! Yeah, like we said chaotic.

The show served up quotables, viral clips, a couple the world fell in love with (hello Lauren and Cameron) as well as a few characters we all love to hate (Jessica the Messica, we see you.) There was even one bisexual who has a penchant for reality television and saw his pursuit of love come to an explosive end.

Obviously once the show went live, there were multiple calls on social media for a queer version. But a show runner for the series points out that the way that the game is set up now, it doesn't lend itself to that.

"This is not a show that is particularly about sexuality," Chris Coelen told Metro. ‘But with that said… I do think that, based on the setup of it, a LGBTQ+ version of that has some logistical difficulties in the current setup."

And he's not really wrong.

The way that Love Is Blind currently orientates itself is forcing contestants into tunnel vision while they are in the dating phase. They do very little all day besides build camaraderie with those of their same gender who they get to see, and chat with those they might have a sexual and romantic interest with through a wall. The show, essentially, deprives them of any other options for romantic interest besides what they find behind these walls. As we all know, it's different with us queers!

In it's current format, Love Is Blind would have to force queers into a bit of a heteronormative construct. Top or bottom? Dominant or submissive? And even if that were done, that still doesn't keep two tops, or two submissives, from seeing each other as viable options, and trying to take a chance on the person they can physically see and feel now, as opposed to what might possibly be behind a wall.

Of course, bisexuals are different. In the case of Carlton from Love Is Blind season 1, he had decided that he wanted to marry a woman — and also ostensibly didn't really have any other choice while in the house as all the men were straight. This doesn't erase his sexuality as being queer but it does allow him to fit more neatly into the format.

Hopefully, the show can come up with some god awful twist that makes the format applicable to all. Until then, we always have the Dekkoo version of the show.

With COVID-19, also known as the novel coronavirus, on the rise, everyone's taking extra precautions not to be site that the virus spreads in. So in addition to large events cancelling, shows with live audiences have been opting to forgo their crowds. One such show: Jimmy Kimmel Live. And on Thursday night, the show had the former mayor and Democratic presidential nominee candidate Pete Buttigieg as the guest host.

To a sparse crowd that included his husband Chasten Buttigieg, and mostly family and friends of the show's cast, Pete gave his opening monologue.

"My name is Pete Buttigieg and I am running to be the next host of Jimmy Kimmel Live," the former candidate said, hopping into his first-ever late night hosting gig. He went on to explain the lack of audience and the fact that it was decided only moments before the cameras started to roll.

In the span of the monologue he got off a few jokes, a few at his own expense, a few at Donald Trump's, and even one at Tulsi Gabbard's. At one point, he did address his presidential run directly.

"Running for president was an amazing experience," he said. "The support our campaign got was unbelievable and I really thought we had a shot. But, turns out I was about 40 years too young and 38 years too gay." Well then!

So what now? Well, a pre-recorded sketch saw Buttigieg applying for a job at a pretzel making shop. Spoiler: he didn't get the gig.

Of his guests Buttigieg had Sir Patrick Stewart (who called him "terrific" and said he's good at speech making) as well as Tony Hale. As Buttigieg is a huge Star Trek buff, Stewart came baring gifts, handing him his own working script from Star Trek: Picard before the pair went head to head in a game of Star Trek trivia.

Never meet your idols, unless you want to lose to them at trivia.

*RuPaul's Drag Race season 12 has disqualified competitor Sherry Pie for misconduct of a sexual nature, but the queen is still featured in episodic footage.

Looks like there's not one, not two, but three parts to the premeire of RuPaul's Drag Race season 12. And yes, we would like to get on with it, but it looks like Ru and the network are dragging this one out. The upside: with premieres come advance previews of the episode.

In the first two parts of the permiere, Ru allowed the queens to debut in two different groups, where they both did a two-look runway for a mini challenge, before taking to the mainstage as girl groups to perform their own verses. May of the performers were impressie, some were not but in the end, Widow Von'Du and Jaida Essence Hall reigned supreme. We love to see it.

But now, it's time for everyone to meet everyone else.

In a new clip, released on YouTube ahead of the episode's official premiere, the queens all greet one another with hugs. The New York City queens realize that there's a whopping five of them — Brita Filter proclaims that she's the best. And to be honest, they don make up quite a bit of talent form the series. That said, the other contestants are nothing to shake a stick at: neither Von'Du nor Hall are from the Big Apple.

After some good natured shade — what can't Gigi Goode do well — they peel out of drag and the next thing we know, we're ready for the mini challenge.

With a visit from some Pit Crew mainstays (Miles Davis Moody and Jason Carter) the winning queens from the previous premieres get to rank their compeitors. The bottom two of each ranking ... aren't necessarily ones we disagree with! And finally, we are off to the maxi challenge assignment. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

There are very few things that we have amid the COVID-19 outbreak. With the coronavirus outbreak on the rise, many events have been cancelled and so we are left with working from home, scrolling through social media and bingeing some of our favorite shows. One of those shows: Schitt's Creek. And good news, there's more Schitt's related content on the way.

Recent episodes of the show which has become a global hit, have been a bit bittersweet. As we hurtle toward the impending marriage of David Rose and Patrick Brewer, fans are excited for the union but saddened that with it comes the end of the show. And while the cast has confirmed that there will be a comedy tour set to kick off in May— although that's likely to be rescheduled given the coronavirus — it seemed the season would be the end of Schitt's on television. Well, there's at least one more project!

"Some nice news in a dark time!' show creator Dan Levy wrote to Instagram. "This clip contains spoilers!"

According to the post, on April 7th, when the finale of the show airs, it will be joined by an hour-long special. Titled Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt's Creek Farewell, that special includes behind the scenes footage and commentary by Levy and the team on creating special Schitt's moments. In the especially emotional moments, cast can be seen wiping tears from their eyes during taping. The special will air on Pop TV, Comedy Central, and Logo.

According to a release it will also take fans into "wardrobe fittings, the emotional final table read, audition tapes, and more." You can also expect interviews with others like celebrity superfans Paula Abdul, Amy Sedaris, and Johnny Weir, as well as others.

“As we celebrate the end of Schitt's Creek, we couldn’t do it without creating a special TV moment to send this historic series out on top,“ Brad Schwartz, Pop TV president, said in a statement. “This must-watch behind the scenes doc is the perfect way to honor a series that has made an impact in so many people’s lives, with enduring characters and stories filled with heart, humor and honesty that will stand the test of time.”

Dominique Jackson is really in her prime, with only greater things down the line. She came to the fore on FX's Pose, the Ryan Murphy-backed, Steven Canals-created show about the ballroom scene. Jackson stood out from the show's other leads as she is a long standing member of, and icon for, that community, now with the chance to help shape its perception in the mainstream. In the midst of that success, Jackson has booked gigs with Valentino, walked the runway for Marco Marco, and even picked up work on season three of Starz'American Gods. Now, she's telling the story of how she got there.

"You know, for quite a while I really didn't get into holidays and stuff like that because there was so much more going on, I really couldn't put up photos before, " Jackson said on the first episode of the Hulu Original Defining Moments with OZY series."I didn't value  my life so I didn't celebrate myself by putting up photos because I was living in survival mode."

In the feature, Jackson describes growing up in Trinidad and Tobago. She explains that she would have never come out on the island as the only person they ever saw that was trans was discarded by society. She experienced homophobia and transphobia from her family and those around her after knowing that something was wrong at age four. While things have certainly been a journey with Jackson and her family, even in the feature, her mother with whom she has recently reconnected, still refers to her with he/him pronouns repeatedly.

While in Tobago, Jackson also describes being sexually assaulted by a priest of the Anglican Church while she was an acolyte around the age of 11. At the time, her mother had relocated to the United States and Jackson was living with her grandmother. Shortly after the incident, she moved to America as well where ballroom saved her literal life.

In the ballroom world, Jackson is known as Tyra Allure Ross Margiela.  She's likened to Janet Jackson and Naomi Campbell in regards to her stature in the scene as ballroom historian Michael Roberson explained. While she was building this influential, celebrity status though, she was falling on hard times personally being estranged from her family, in addition to being without work as she had no green card.

"Sex work made me feel like I was nothing, I was dirt," she said.

Later in the feature, Jackson reconnects with her mother and other members of her family, and talks about her extensive work in activism, namely with Destination Tomorrow.

"It's a place where people of color can come to and actually feel like they are being serviced by people who have actually lived the experiences they are going through," she said. Jackson is now able to help those who are currently in positions she once was in.

But this new visibility, though welcome, does not come without drawbacks. It brings with it, new dangers, and for that reason she keeps her personal security, turned personal manager, and now boyfriend: Edwin.

Watch the full feature on Hulu now.

It's time to get out those credit cards to pick up some commemorative Schitt's Creek paraphernalia.

Though the cast of the hit television show will leave our screens soon, they don't have to leave our desks. According to an Entertainment Weekly exclusive, beginning today a line of Funko Pop features, created in the likeness of the Rose family, are available for pre-order. Love this journey for them!

Each Rose family member into a stylized Pop of about four inches in height. Both David and Johnny appear with their almost trademark thick eyebrows — David in all black with a kilt, and Johnny in one of his classic blue suits. Alexis is the picture of carefree beauty wearing a polka dot sundress and full-brimmed sun hat. Moira is, like her son, in Black and white, with a cute bag and oversized necklace, styled to perfection. We love to see it.

The dolls are going for $10.99 a pop and will be released on June 15, 2020 — hopefully after the whole COVID-19 is over with.

For those that are feeling a little bit lucky, there's another doll in the mix. For those who buy the first David Pop, there's a second, alternate version that will be went out to 1 in six recipients. While it can't be purchased individually, it depicts David in that iconic hooded black look from season 2 where he runs away and finds himself on an Amish farm. You know the look! May the odds ever be in your favor.

If you can't get the dolls you want, there's a few other ways to squeeze what little left we have of the show: there will be an hour long special following the finale and also a comedy tour of the cast coming up. Get ready for it!

*RuPaul's Drag Race season 12 has disqualified competitor Sherry Pie for misconduct of a sexual nature, but the queen is still featured in episodic footage.

After three episodes, RuPaul's Drag Race is back and sharing a teaser for this week's edition. The series has dropped the "first act" of each episode of the season 12 premiere so far, but they aren't done. In this week's footage, the queens take it to the ballroom communityin the show's recurring ball challenge. Oh, and RuPaul Charles twerks.

After the queens return to the Werk Room — you know, following Dahlia Sin storming off of the mainstage with no cutes-y, memorable one liner — the reality of the competition began to sit in. But they don't have much time to relax before Mama Ru calls them in for the next mini-challenge: the Beehive Jive. The queens must get into quick drag, mocking up bee-inspired outfits, and then essentially have a dance off.

It's ... interesting, to say the least.

Queens we've already known were truly performers like Heidi N. Closet, Widow Von'Du, and Jaida Essence Hall all stand out. Ru ends up giving it the win to Gigi Goode and does a little dancing of his own. Goode picks up $2,500.

This week's maxi-challenge is the show's Fashion Ball, inspired by the ballroom community. Fun fact: RuPaul actually has very little connection to the ballroom scene. In a recent NPR interview he was asked if he ever became a part of the community. "Not really," he said. This was the same interview where he seems to admit to allowing fracking on his ranch. "I went to balls. But, you know, the kids at the ballroom were from a different - they weren't the children of Warhol. They weren't the David Bowie kids. They were kids who were shut out with society and wanted to emulate what society was doing - right? - or what high society was doing. We were the kids who were making fun of high society in a knowing - in a conscious way, if that makes sense."

We're just going to leave that right there.

On Drag Race, this week's ball the queens have to show three looks: Lady Baller, Basketball Wife Realness, and Balls to the Wall Eleganza. The last category is a design challenge. We can't wait to see how this turns out.

The multihyphenate talent made the announcement in a televised interview.

Polish actor, journalist, and author Witold Sadowy celebrated his 100th birthday by coming out as gay. He made the announcement during an interview with the Polish public television channel TVP Kultura.

“I’m gay,” he revealed in the interview according to the Gay Times. “Now I have said everything, as in confession.”

Sadowy was born in Warsaw in 1920 and is the oldest living Polish actor, according to Gazeta.pl. He made his stage debut in 1945 as Floris in Mayor of Stylmond at the Popular Theater. His most recent performance onstage came in 1989. During the period in between he has appeared on nearly every stage in Warsaw.

In 1980, Sadowy began work as a journalist and theatre critic. He wrote for multiple publications. In later years he wrote obituaries for actors and directors. Sadowy was so renowned for his remembrances of the deceased that he earned the nickname of "Charon of Warsaw actors," likening him to the mythological ferryman who escorted the deceased across the river Styx on their journey to Hades. He was honored as a distinguished member of the Association of Polish Stage Artists in 1999, and the Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 2015 for his contributions to culture and the arts.

Looking back over his long and storied career, Sadowy has much from which to take pride.

“For me the most important is the truth of survival,” he explained. “I am proud that I was an honest man. I don't regret anything."

His announcement is set against the backdrop of growing anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment and hate in the former Soviet satellite state. Right-wing protesters became violent at the first-ever Pride march in Bialystok last year. More recently, 80 towns have declared themselves LGBTQ-free zones. The move resulted in a sharp rebuke from the European Parliament which denounced the acts of discrimination and urged authorities to respect the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.

Andy Cohen, host of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and executive producer behind many popular Bravo shows including the Real Housewives franchise, has announced that he is the latest celebrity to be diagnosed with COVID-19, also known as the novel coronavius. In a short post, the host suggests that production for WWHL will be paused momentarily.

"After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for Coronavirus," he wrote. "As much as I felt like I could push through whatever I was feeling to do #WWHL from home, we’re putting a pin in that for now so I can focus on getting better.  I want to thank all the medical professionals who are working tirelessly for all of us, and urge everybody to stay home and take care of themselves."

WWHL was initially suspended earlier this month as a precautionary measure. Only a few hours ago, Bravo announced that the show would return on Sunday in a special edition titled What What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home. They promised a week of episodes filmed from Cohen's apartment with guest interviews as well as production work all being done remotely. John Mayer, Nene Leakes, and Ramona Singer were all slated to make appearances. And now, before those plans could really even get off the ground, they've been put on pause.

Over the last few days, Cohen has continued to work, calling in to his Sirius Radio show from home. It's turned out some pretty amazing work from home looks. He's also been keeping his followers entertained on Instagram Stories. Recently he finished reading Michael Jackson's autobiography Moonwalk. After finding out that it was edited by former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, he announced that she didn't do a very good job.

In the spirit of that message, for our coverage of the season, we have opened every post with a note that alerts readers of the same information.  Ànd while some — read we — interpreted the message to mean that the season would air in its original edit, that viewers would see the same amount of Sherry Pie as was originally planned. But that is incredibly not what is happening.

After the second episode of the season, Sherry Pie has virtually disappeared from the storylines on the show. Yes, she's very much still in the competition having won the maxi challenge in part three of the premiere, but her Werk Room presence is practically nonexistent and she has no confessional moments. And for those who think: oh well there's so many queens, maybe it's just a fluke. Well, boy do we have something to show you.

On social media, a few have pointed out that for the third episode of the season, those who watch Drag Race internationally on iTunes, got their fair sharing of Pie. Not only did she get confessionals, but she appeared in more shots in general. The always-on-it Reddit fans were able to cull together a side-by-side of the difference. Watch that here.

In the video comparison it's clear that producers went so far as to edit down even some group shots with the competitor in them, as well as cutting out shots that focused on her facial reactions. The reason is simple: this is how we come to know and love our favorite television stars. We see them and relate to their opinions or their nonverbal reactions to the various situations they find themselves in. We turn those reactions and moments into memes and GIFs, and we fall in love.

This week, though we have no conclusive proof yet, it seems they did it again. In addition to Pie not having any confessional spots, and having no lines that don't serve another queen's storyline, in the mini-challenge, Sherry Pie's segment of the Bee Hive Jive is ... extremely abbreviated. And though some have complained that the result makes Pie's wins seem out of nowhere, that's honestly the lack of continuity that we are willing to suffer through given the conundrum we've found ourselves in.

*RuPaul's Drag Race season 12 has disqualified competitor Sherry Pie for misconduct of a sexual nature but she is still featured in episodic footage.

We're back, back, back again! RuPaul's Drag Race's long-running reading challenge hasn't started but in a new preview for this week's episode of the show, the shade is already flying.

Last week, much was discussed about RuPaul's decision to put Rock M'Sakura and Brita in the bottom. To be frank, it was less about putting those two in the bottom, and more about deciding that Aiden Zhane was safe. The producers of the show seemed to know it would cause a bit of a backlash and included a clip of Zhane telling people to "deal with it" right after the decision was made. Well, some of the other queens have thoughts!

"I just hear Rock M's crying and how badly she wanted this," Brita says walking into the Werk Room right after the elimination, reflecting on her immediate thoughts. "While other people did the bare minimum and skated by again." The camera immediately cuts to Zhane's face. Tell us how you really feel girl!

Brita wasn't the only one with thoughts.

"Week after the week I just feel more and more weakened," Nicky Doll says. "I see them seeing something in Aiden. They're like 'you're so special!' How can see something in her like that and because I look polished I just don't have it." Jaida Essence Hall took it even further, telling Zhane to her face she thought she was going to be in the bottom.

"Sis you take naps while all of us are working hard," Brita expands in a confessional. "She literally just put balls on a corset." Widow Von'Du later admits that Brita should have been safe while Zhane should have gone home. But the Georgia-based queen has a message or two for anyone who isn't feeling her.

"We're all in this competition together and we are all competing for the same crown," Zhane says. "So I don't care what your background is or what reputation you have, if the judges aren't seeing what they want to see from you then bitch, bye!"

'Schitt's Creek's Entire Team Cried After David's Dance for Patrick

The tidbit was revealed in a series of new, beautiful digital covers of 'Entertainment Weekly.'

Schitt's Creek is a comedy, —that's something no one can deny — but it's also extremely emotional. Though the show brings out the full belly laughter every single episode, it also includes more than few poignant scenes, that can start the waterworks. (I mean Alexis Rose and Ted Mullens at the diner in the finale season, come on!!) But what is unique about the show is that the writers and actors have a knack for combining both of those things into one moment. Such was the case with David Rose's now infamous sexy Tina Turner lip sync.

We all remember the moment: David and Patrick had gotten into a bit of a rough patch when David found out that Patrick's ex had been texting him to get back together. Patrick, notably, had been dodging the texts. But still, Mr. Rose needed some space to process it all.

While he's figuring it all out, Patrick starts sending him gifts to sweeten the deal. Along the way, though David decides he wants to be back together with Patrick, he sits on the decision in order to get a few more presents. When he eventually admits this to Patrick, it's his turn to do some wooing. Enter Tina Turner's "The Best," with a lip sync performance by one David Rose.

“David’s not a particularly romantic person,” Dan Levy, Schitt's Creek showrunner and David Rose actor, told Entertainment Weekly in a new series of digital cover stories. The covers feature Levy with Noah Reid who plays Patrick. “You’re scripting it like, isn't this hysterical? And then you get up to the day and it's like — I'm not a dancer. I'm not really a performer. The night before I was just learning the lyrics to the song.”

Because he's not a performer, Levy and Reid downed a bottle of Prosecco before filming the scene. Then, the pair got to work.

“As an actor, it was the most unsafe I've ever felt, in the sense that I'm going to do something that's so outside of my own personal comfort zone, that level of unabashed lack of consideration for how this is going to appear on film," Levy said. "But you get those moments so rarely. So I was like, ah, screw it. Let's try this.” And it worked! Much of what aired came from the first take of Levy's performance. But after, something unexpected happened: the crew was crying.

“I had always pictured that moment to be quite funny,” Levy said. “The rest of our team behind the cameras were crying. I thought I had done it wrong.” Nope, you did everything right. Everything!

The three digital covers are all inspired by romantic films to celebrate the two-part finale, which will feature Patrick and David's wedding. Sixteen Candles, Casablanca and Notting Hill were the three chosen films.

'SNL' star Kate McKinnon is set to play Carole Baskin in the upcoming series.

As self-quarantine truly sets in people have begun to utilize streaming platforms, possibly now more than ever. The latest binge of choice: Netflix’s Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, a show featuring a gun-toting, gay exotic animal trainer who owns hundreds of big cats, was once in a married triad, and has had a life with more twists than a Shonda Rhimes show. Now, that series is being expanded into a spinoff.

According toTV Line and their sister siteDeadline, the new series will be based on the Joe Exotic: Tiger King podcast which was produced by Wondery and released before the Netflix series. Emmy-winning Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon is reportedly set to play Carole Baskin, the CEO of Big Cat Rescue and archnemesis of Exotic. There is no word yet on who will play the outrageous Exotic in the series.

Known as Joe Exotic, Joe Maldonado-Passage (né Schreibvogel) is the larger than life figure who ran Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma. The zoo housed around 200 big cats including tigers, lions, and pumas as well as ligers and tigons. Exotic has been married multiple times. His first partner, Brian Rhyne, died of complications from HIV in 2001. Another marriage saw him wed his two partners simultaneously, clips of which are featured in the Netflix show.

Exotic notably ran as an Independent Party candidate for president in 2016. He made the ballot in Colorado and received 962 votes. In 2018, he finished third out of three candidates in the Independent Party primary for Governor of Oklahoma.

Baskin became involved with Exotic when she organized protests against his alleged misuse of animals, including staging shows where the audience could pet small cubs and animals. The feud is the centerpiece of the Netflix series and includes murder accusations, lawsuits, and a whole lot of shade.

McKinnon is a graduate of Columbia University where she studied theatre. Before becoming a regular on SNL in 2012, she also appeared on The Big Gay Sketch Show. She starred in the all-female reboot of Ghostbusters in 2016 and also received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Exotic is currently serving 22 years in a federal penitentiary for trying to hire a hitman to murder Baskin. He was unavailable for comment on whether he plans to run for elected office from prison. President Trump did not answer our request for comment on his 2016 challenger.

This year's Academy of Country Music Awards has been postponed to Wednesday, September 16. But, in its place the Academy, on the originally slated airdate, CBS will air "ACM Presents: Our Country," a two-hour special featuring some of Nashville's biggest stars.

Set for April 5th at 8:00 p.m., the show will feature stars like Brandi Carlile, Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain, Keith Urban, and Miranda Lambert among others. The artists will perform acoustic sets from their own homes and engage in "intimate conversations" according to a release.

In addition, Kenny Rogers, a 10-time ACM Award winner Kenny Rogers will be honored via performances by Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley, and Darius Rucker. All of this will be interspersed with clips from previous award shows.

Carlile is nominated for an ACM Award as a member of the supergroup The Highwomen. That foursome includes Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris, and Amanda Shires. The group, which released its self-titled debut album lst year, is the first all-female team since The Dixie Chicks to be nominated in that category. The Dixie Chicks were nominated in 2002. The name of the group pays homage to the legendary Highwaymen group.

If The Highwomen wins the category, it will be simply the latest trophy for Carlile. She has five Grammy Awards, a CMT Music Award, UK Americana Awards, and an award from Billboard Women in Music. In 2019, she was the most-nominated woman at the Grammys with six nominations. She went home with three wins.

We are hoping that since she's doing the set from home we will get a chance to see Carlile's wife Catherine Shepherd, who she married in 2012, as well as their children Evangeline and Elijah.

'Drag Race's Latest Episode of 'Untucked' Was Extremely Chaotic

Sure, Jan kept hitting that 'shade' button but this was downright reading!

RuPaul's Drag RaceBrita, Aiden Zhane, and Heidi N Closet from UntuckedMikelle Street

"If you're not watching Untucked, you're only getting half the story," RuPaul says in the intro of every Untucked episode. And after a few weeks of the series feeling a little meh — the queens were understandably settling in and getting to know one another in addition to entertaining the celebrity guest judges — the show certainly lived up to that tagline.

To set things off, Sherry Pie brings the attention of the week's tops to a large, oversized pink button with the word SHADE emblazoned on its front.

"I have an idea for a game," Pie, who was the overall winner of the week, said. As a result of Pie being disqualified from the competition post-filming, RuPaul's Drag Race has announced they are donating $5,000 to the Trevor Project. "I think if we're going to spill tea, I've been watching this giant shade button this whole time, and I think every time we feel the shade somebody has to hit it." Jan volunteered herself as the button hitter, and the stage is officially set. But we have to admit: things quite quickly progressed from shade, which is a an elevated, discreet form of verbally sparring with someone, to full out reading.

It was Aiden Zhane at the center of most of what happened, and to be fair, many of the frustrations her fellow competitors had with her were based in facts — that sort of "no tea, no shade," sort of vibe. Jackie Cox kicked it all off.

"I'm a little surprised to see you here," she said, referring to the fact that Zhane was picked by the judges to be in the tops. Jan takes up her spot by the shade button. "Only 'cuz we had to memorize a lot of lines and the other two who dropped lines, [Jaida Essence Hall and Nicky Doll], they're in the bottom and you're not." Well Miss Cox, tell us how you really feel!

And that vibe kept up throughout the episode, with queens bringing up things they had previously said in confessionals to Zhane's front door. Frustrations about her sleeping in the Werk Room while others are hard at work, and otherwise seemingly being less dedicated while being praised by the judges were all brought up. Both Brita and Nicky Doll, who were both in the bottom with Doll having to lipsync, when they were made how they felt abundantly clear.

"I'm serving you looks every single time compared to other people," Brita said about being in the bottom. "It sucks being up there with your sisters and you have to say who should go home when you think that someone else, in this room, who is safe should be going home instead. I'm shook about it." And while that certainly skated the line of shade and reading given Brita didn't name names, shortly after she put it out there: hi Aiden Zhane.

Zhane didn't let it pass and addressed it all head on.

"Can I say one thing to get this out of the way for the rest of the fucking season," Zhane interrupted as Hall began to speak. "From day fucking one of this competition, I have had pretty much everybody in this goddamn place coming for me." And then .. it all hit the fan.

Of the most memorable moments? The gem of a serious Miss Continental candidate Heidi N Closet shutting it all down.

"At the end of the day it doesn't fucking matter, the bitch is safe — leave her alone," Closet said after having previously removed herself from the conversation to focus on preparing for her lip sync performance. "I'mma worry about Heidi. Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, and fuck you." She points to a few of the queens feuding. A mother!

"Y'all need to leave it alone," Closet finishes it out. Her competitors don't listen and keep at it.

Later Brita, Jan, Gigi Goode go off to the side to have another description in what seems to be an alliance beginning to form.

"It is made apparent to me that we can't play nice anymore," Brita said. "People are dropping like flies and we are going one by one. Like we can be cordial to one another but this is a game now and I thought I was playing the game but I guess not."

Sounds like the race has officially begun. Total number of times Jan hit the button: 4. How many times she should have? The limit truly does not exist.

The season 12 competitor also sees where the judges were coming from.

RuPaul's Drag RaceNicky Doll from Drag RaceMikelle Street
*This post contains spoilers from RuPaul's Drag Race season 12, episode five.

Nicky Doll is not necessarily new to a certain amount of fame. While her historic stint on RuPaul's Drag Race as the first French queen to compete has no doubt brought that to new heights, the 28-year-old boasted almost 30,000 followers on Instagram before she was ever announced as a contestant. That number rose to 84,000 by the time the show began to air. But also, as far back as 2018 we were covering the queen. Drag Race has still brought her into an entirely new world.

Doll made an early impression on the judges and audiences as a look queen. She hones and recreates fashion references to turn out more than a few stunning looks. But on the runway, while there wasn't much substantive critique on the aesthetics, her personality seemed to ring hollow, something that Doll tells Out she can see in the footage.

Post show, the New York-based performer has had a bit of a breakout with support from RuPaul herself. Ru handpicked Doll for a job on her Saturday Night Live hosting gig, doing Pete Davidson's makeup. Since she's appeared on French TV and filmed a video for Vogue France. Sounds like our reigning fashion queens might have to make some space on the front row.

Here we talked to Nicky Doll about her experience on the show, how she felt about the critiques, and what it was like working with Pete Davidson.

You lip synced twice, what do you feel you showed the world in those performances?
I would say that you need to choose the outfits wisely that you bring on the show to compete if you want to deliver a lip sync that you’re used to doing at the club. My first lip sync with Dahlia was painful to watch because I was wearing probably the most uncomfortable dress and hair I brought for the entire season. I really loved lip-syncing against Heidi because we both took two different directions when it comes to Kim Petras''“Heart to Break." I will always remember that time on stage with my sister.

How do you feel about the decision to send you home?
As much as I want to say that I didn’t agree with it, I think that it was for the best. I was facing a wall with the judges and couldn’t figure out what they needed from me. I realize now that my European politeness got the best of me when I was on the main stage. Being in their shoes, I can understand how they did not see who I was. It is also an incredibly talented season. It wasn’t my time yet, and I’m at peace with it.

One thing that you mentioned a few times in the competition was you felt that you were at a disadvantage because you are French, do you still feel that way?
Sadly for me, in my heart, I was ready but I never realized I had to face such deep insecurities when it comes to the language barrier. I am truly a fully-rounded queen in French but being able to bring spontaneity to the table on command in English was way harder than I thought it would be. When it’s called RuPaul’s Drag RACE, they were not joking. Now looking back, I should have never said my name and kept pushing, but at that time that’s what felt right and I don’t like to have any regrets. It made me grow so much, and I think only the positive out of this incredible experience!

Having watched the show do you see the difference in what the judges were seeing onstage and the personality that your fellow queens saw?
I do see a more shy Nicky Doll facing the judges compared to the Nicky in the Werk Room. The more and more I was getting used to the whole experience, the more I opened up on the runway. It took me extra time to adjust to all this, but I don’t regret anything. My biggest accomplishment so far on the show was to open up to my sisters and to the rest of the world. If I ever get the chance to be on All Stars, baby, this will be a WHOLE different story. The judges will understand who I am finally.

How did you get into drag? Did you have a drag mother?
Like I said on the show, I have built my persona from scratch. I do not belong to any drag family and haven’t learned from my elders. I do have a drag best friend who taught me a lot in Paris. Her name is Sylvia Slut, and she really helped me finesse my makeup and elevate my drag. It was incredible to get ready with her. She’s still to this day one of the most amazing drag makeup artists I’ve met!

Before the season had even premiered, you worked with Ru to do Pete Davidson's drag makeup for SNL; what was that experience like?
When I got the call I could not believe Ru specifically asked me to come on set and do Pete’s makeup. Not only did I get to transform Pete to this beautiful Glamazon, but I got to see Ru apply all the tricks she’s trying to teach us in the competition. Watching her get the job done was probably one of the most inspiring things I’ve ever seen. I just wish I would have seen it before competing. Pete is also a dream to work with!

You also have a lot of relationships in the fashion industry and are endlessly inspired by the industry. What has been the most surreal fashion-related experience you've had since the show?
Fashion is really a field where both Karl and Nicky thrive. Out of drag, I am a freelance makeup artist and work a lot in the industry but behind the scenes. As Nicky, I get to become this muse and apply everything that I love directly to her.  Since the show, I got to do an amazing video with Vogue Paris that really helped me to be introduced and spread the message of drag to France. As much as America did a tremendous work on making drag mainstream, France still has a lot of work to do to get that point. Which is why I am honored to be the one that shared the message as the first French queen on the show. Doing this video has been a surreal experience that I will never forget!

What's next for Nicky Doll?
Nicky Doll is far from leaving your screens. I had the incredible opportunity to be introduced to the American audience and the world, and I am first and foremost super excited to come meet everyone at my shows. I have a lot of projects in the making. You can expect a lot of fashion and a lot of touring, but also some things you wouldn’t expect me to do. I am excited and you should too!
