"I've hosted reunions for years, but yesterday's was the best one yet."

After testing positive for the virus at the center of an ongoing global pandemic a few weeks ago, Andy Cohen is back in action! The most important thing: reuniting with his son.

On March 20, Cohen, the mega-producer behind popular Real Housewives franchise, announced to his followers and the world that he indeed was one of many to test positive for the virus.

"After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive," he wrote to Instagram. "As much as I felt like I could push through whatever I was feeling to do #WWHL from home, we’re putting a pin in that for now so I can focus on getting better.  I want to thank all the medical professionals who are working tirelessly for all of us, and urge everybody to stay home and take care of themselves."

And quarantine he did: Cohen took a break from even Instagram as he seemingly imposed a digital quarantine on himself as well. But only days ago, he made his return.

"Happy to report I'm feeling better and am returning to [Radio Andy on Sirius XM] this morning, and will try to end your day with a smile when we begin WWHL@Home tonight featuring [Nene Leakes, Lisa Rinna, and Jerry O'Connell,]" he wrote in a new post. And though getting back together with his celebrity friends was probably a welcome reprieve from solitude, there was one reunion that was more sentimental than them all.

"I've hosted reunions for years, but yesterday's was the best one yet," he wrote as a caption to a photo featuring himself and his son Benjamin. The pair had been separated in order to ensure that the child didn't contract the virus as well. Benjamin is just over a year old.

Yes, that's a tear.

With everything settled, Watch What Happens Live @ Home, the previously announced quarantine iteration of Cohen's popular talk show is officially back in business. Tonight, the show will host John Mayer and later in the week fans can expect Kyle Richards, Ramona Singer, and Melissa and Joe Gorga.

And in terms of drama, Aiden Zhane says "quiet Aiden isn't going to be quiet for much longer."

RuPaul's Drag RacePreparing for Snatch Game in Drag Race season 12Mikelle Street

Well, we all knew it was coming.

There are a few things we see every single season of RuPaul's Drag Race. At some point, we get a reading mini-challenge, and at another, we get the famed "Snatch Game." Having been first launched on season 2 of the popular show, "Snatch Game" is arguably the most anticipated component, and reportedly quite a significant component of the application to get on the show in the first place. Well, it's time for the season 12 queens to get their shots.

In a new clip show host RuPaul announces to the ten remaining queens that this week's maxi challenge is the "Snatch Game," where they will impersonate a celebrity of their choosing.

"Pick a celebrity that you can impersonate, then make me and the world laugh," Ru says simply. Boy, let me tell you: it is not simple.

"Snatch Game," though it seems pretty barebones is quite complex in that it not only requires you to pick someone that you can convincingly make yourself appear to be, but that you also know enough about the person that you can perform improv as them, and make it comedic. The most successful turns result in iconic comedic goal a la Aquaria's "Any hole is a goal" as Melania Trump. The worst ... well, let's just focus on the good stuff.

This year prepare to see Cardi B, Tina Turner, and Patricia Quinn among the names of those to be impersonated.

Of course, as we all know Drag Race isn't just a competition; it's a reality show. The new preview nods to that as Brita brings up how she feels about Aiden Zhane being safe. Again.

Zhane, who has clearly had enough of it says in a confessional: "Quiet Aiden isn't going to be quiet for much longer."

Feel like you're only getting half the story? Someone clearly isn't watching Untucked!

Sounds like show creator Dan Levy could go for some more too.

Schitt's CreekSchitt's Creek still.Mikelle Street

The past six years of Schitt's Creek has been long, but not long enough! What started as a small half-hour on a network in Canada has turned into an international phenom with legions of fans across North America. Season six, which is airing now, represents the height of the show's popularity and sadly has been announced as the final installment in the series. But now, in a new cover story for Variety, showcreator Dan Levy reveals that maybe, just maybe, he could get the gang together for a little bit more.

In a story that's been told before, Schitt's got its start on CBC and Pop TV after Dan Levy and his father Eugene Levy, with whom he created the show, got a lot of no's from larger networks. In a series of deals cobbled together by the Levy's, they drummed up enough money to get things going. It was an instant hit on CBC, and the Pop team committd themselves to supporting. But when Netflix got involved after season three in 2017, that's when things really took off.

In the Variety cover story, they write that Pop, 3.7 million viewers are watching season six episodes "when you count live and delayed viewing of multiple telecasts, and the channel’s digital platforms." This is a whopping 60% more than last season. And as for on Netflix? Variety says that in the first week of March, the show was the second-most-watched acquisition on the stream. Talk about power. But with all of this excitment, what would it take to keep it going?

“I wish that this show could have gone on 100 seasons," Levy tells Variety. "But it’s quality over quantity." And it's true, the show has prized nuanced writing which is partially how it's gained such a fandom.

“If an idea crosses my path that I feel is deserving of our cast’s time, then let’s do it," Levy continued. "I don’t know what it could possibly be at this point. But I would love to revisit these characters, and I would love to get to play with this cast again. I feel very proud of the work that we’ve done, and I wouldn’t want to do anything that compromises that.”

Sounds like the perfect thing for his new ABC deal.

'Tiger King's Saff Still Wants the Best for the Animals

In an interview with 'Out,' the breakout star of the Netflix show also clears up some details about his gender.

netflixSaff from Tiger King.Mikelle Street

In the crazy hectic world of big cats, career-long feuds, and murder there sits Saff. The relatively new Netflix show Tiger King has gripped the internet over the past few weeks and with it, it has brought a cast of chaotic characters. By the end of the series, almost no one comes out unsullied by scandal save a select few like Saff, for whom the safety of said big cats (and all the other animals on the properties) is paramount.

Saff has become a breakout star of the show, and with that much has been discussed about his gender and his name as depicted in the series. Here, we talk to him about how things have been since the show, whether Carole Baskin ever came after him trying to get to Joe Exotic, and what he thinks about all the discussion.

How's everything been for you since the show has come out on Netflix?

Well, it's been pretty chaotic. Honestly.

You know I have been in the news before, obviously when my incident happened, but this is a whole different level. Like people recognize me; I went to Walmart last night and three people recognized me in a Walmart during a pandemic. So it's definitely different.

Has there been anything that's been particularly crazy or is it has it just been being recognized in public?

It's been just all around crazy. I'm used to a very low-key lifestyle. I've always kind of just done my own thing and never really pushed to be in the public eye. I was perfectly fine with that. So this is a little bit new to me and I'll be honest, sometimes it gets a little bit uncomfortable, you know, honestly. I do enjoy my space.

There's sort of talk of there being another show based on the podcast. Do you know anything about that or have you been in conversation about that?

I haven't talked to anyone about it, or they haven't spoken to me, I should say. But as far as just the amount of footage that was collected throughout the filming of it, I mean, it was years and years of them putting this all together. Just from my end, I know that there's more there's more

Was there something that didn't make it into the show that you were sort of surprised didn't make it?

I think what the amount of time that they spent on park filming wasn't reflected. There wasn't a lot of what we do there, you know. There were bits and pieces of the animal interactions with us, but there was so much more to it. It wasn't just a matter of doing these cub petting events or these tours; we constantly interacted with our animals. They were friends to us and we looked forward to interacting with them. And it varied; it wasn't just cats. Some people were excited to go spend time with a cockatoo or excited to go spend time with a skunk. You become very, very much attached to these animals as if they are a large part of your life and I don't think that was depicted as much as as I know it was present.

How did you get into the industry?

I was in the army right out of school in Hawaii and ever since I remember being able to say tiger, I would want a tiger. Obviously, you can't have them in Hawaii, it's just not something that anyone can have as a privately owned pet. So my best bet was to go to the zoo as often as I could and I remember sitting in front of that tiger cage, just hoping to get get a glimpse of it.

I carried that through my entire life and once I was able to do it for myself, I said, I was going to get my hands on a tiger like this. And that's exactly what I did.

Would you say the show's depiction of Joe Exotic is true to what you knew of Joe?

Yeah, I mean, they didn't show it all. It was a very generalized Joe because Joe has many — and I say this over and over, —Joe has many faces. Joe is like a chameleon: he can be or thinks he can be anything that you need him to be. If you need him to be funny, he'll be funny. If you need him to be a country music artist, he's gonna try his hand at that too. I'm not sitting here saying that he was great or good at any of it or all of it. You know what I mean? But he gave his all to everything he did. And I stand to what I said on the show as well: If there was a way, Joe would find it and that's just a fact. He was an entrepreneur and entertainer by nature. You put those two together and it's a pretty good marketing tool.

So obviously, one of the big things in the series was the incident that you had with the tiger and having your arm amputated. It seemed like to me the importance to you was not making it a big thing and I'm wondering if something like that happened again, would you react the same way? I also read that there was footage of that they didn't show?

Yes sir. sure of it. In the show, I think there was like a still or maybe just like a very short clip of what happened because we really filmed everything. So there were always cameras rolling. That was just a typical day, a typical tour day for us so nothing was supposed to happen.

I think at one point, Joe actually used the video as a safety video for interns or employees and it's gruesome and it's not for the faint of heart. But I think it drove the point home that these are big, big beast of creatures and they're wild, no matter what we say, no matter what anyone says. These are wild animals, and they have wild animal instincts. That's just something that when you're in the industry, you need to keep in mind

I know you said that you said you're not a huge fan of all the fame but you became a breakout star for all the right reasons in comparison to all the other characters. How has that been?

You know, mainly it's just an uncomfortable thing for me as it's all-new. So, it's not necessarily that it's, negative. I'm not upset about it. I'm glad that it's getting the attention that it's getting because I think it deserves the attention. In the animal industry, I think we feel like we fight all the fights alone because there are other issues at hand that people are focused on. So I think the additional attention is always positive, even if people are like, "Oh, that's the craziest thing I've ever seen." It's still they have seen it and now it's on their mind. Maybe next time they'll think twice about decisions that pertain towards or are pertinent to the animal world.

This was my life for almost 10 years, I completely was consumed by it. I lived day in and day out caring for these animals, blood, sweat, tears and a left hand. You know, I sacrificed for that cause and for the animals so I think that's the thing that I take away from it the most. If walking around Walmart and getting recognized means that more people are involved in the world that I invested so much of myself into then I can smile at the end of the day, that's for sure.

In the show, Joe talked about how Carole Baskin started coming after anyone around him just to get to him. Did you ever have an experience with her or her people?

I wouldn't ever say she came after me but she did reach out through third parties immediately after my incident. Without being malicious or without even bringing in her feud with Joe I declined to speak because, at the end of the day, I was more focused on just kind of getting back and doing damage control with what had just happened. The last thing I wanted to do was having a conversation about Joe.

I was  genuinely focused on the animals and, and the park because the park is, you know, the animals' lifeline. So I just shut it down immediately, again without being malicious without even bringing up our feud with Joe or any of that. I told her that I wasn't interested and I just wanted to get back to the animals. And that was it.

So there's a lot of reports right now saying that you were misgendered throughout the series and I wanted to see if you wanted to address all of that.

I think the reason that I stay pretty neutral on it all is I've never been one to tell people what to be or what to say or how to handle anything. It's a big community out there so I don't want to pick a side either way. If people are asking me what I prefer, it's very obvious what I prefer, and that's he. But I'm not going to tell anyone what they need to or should call me. I think that everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and I'm obviously as easygoing in that department as I can get.

I don't think that I personally get offended I think others do. I think everyone should stand up for what they believe in. I just — it's literally one of the last things that I really considered worrying about.

There were also some reports that identified you as a trans man.

No, I, I can honestly say no. I don't know that that describes me. You know, nothing was done. I really just have lived this lifestyle. And, you know, my family knows this. And obviously, people closest to me know. This is how I've lived my entire life. I don't know anything else.

Is there anything that frustrates you about the coverage that you're seeing out there?

I read an article earlier that said that I left the zoo because Joe left the zoo. That's frustrating to hear because that's not true: I left the zoo because my reason to be at the zoo left the zoo.

Do you want to speak to the reason that you were there at the zoo?

I wanted to make sure that my children were able to interact with the animals, like I was able to interact with them. Because when I was a kid, it was my dream and I lived my dream. I wanted my children to be able to if they choose to do that. The passion never went away — I still have that drive to do it — but I didn't see that in the mission of the zoo anymore, honestly. That's why I left. If I could have packed all those animals up, I would have taken them with me, but obviously that's not something that I could have done.

Are you in touch with any of the new zoo owners?

No, I mean, I know that I had interaction with them, you know, for almost two years. Because we kind of crossed paths there, you know, I was there before them, and then they showed up and then I left and then they're still there. So, our paths crossing were about a little under two years, I would say is when we worked directly together, me, Jeff and Lauren, and as far as you know, interacting with anyone else from there: no, when I walked away, I completely disconnected from everybody.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 fan favorite Valentina announced she will appear in Season 3 of the Netflix hit series La Casa De Las Flores. The Latinx drag queen updated fans with the news in an Instagram post.

“It’s is my honor to announce my participation in my favorite @Netflix show LA CASA DE LAS FLORES, I’m on season 3!” Valentina posted to her Instagram. “So if you haven’t watch season 1 and 2, get into it!

The series, translated to The House of Flowers in English, is the brainchild of Mexican director Manalo Caro and revolves around a prestigious flower shop and the dysfunctional family that owns it. The Spanish-language black comedy has been heralded for its satiric take on the hugely popular telenova genre as well as its quality writing and LGBTQ+ characters. No wonder Valentina is excited about the opportunity.

“I went crazy for the show when it first came out and thought ‘I HAVE TO BE ON THIS SHOW,’” Valentina continued in a later post.

She also made sure to credit director Manolo Caro in the same post. “Manolo Caro is a Gem to Mexico and the entire world. Thanks for believing in me, I love you friend.”

The news isn't the only way that the star has pushed into the mainstream since her stints on Drag Race and All Stars; she notably was a part of Rent: Live and has been named as a muse to Wes Gordon, the designer behind Carolina Herrera.

“I honestly got to live my fantasy as a telenovela actress and made many new friends along the way.”

RuPaul's Drag RaceGigi Goode in Snatch GameMikelle Street

*RuPaul's Drag Race season 12 has disqualified competitor Sherry Pie for misconduct of a sexual nature but she is still featured in episodic footage.

RuPaul's Drag Race is a show as much about the competition as it is about the competitors. Every season the competing queens show their talents and skill, but also introduce themselves and the issues that impact them to the world. It is arguably one of the more powerful components of the longrunning season and this week Gigi Goode, our top queen in the competition, revealed to the world that she identifies as genderfluid.

The admission came as Goode prepared for her standout performance as Maria The Robot in the iconic challenge "Snatch Game." Onscreen, she told Jaida Essence Hall that she was kind of struggling to get into the character as she relies on femininity both in and out of drag.

“I’ve kind of always teetered between male and female throughout my whole life," Goode explained. "I think I really always carry some sense of female and male, even when I’m in non-drag.”

“Growing up, I’ve always been interested in feminine things," the queen continued in a confessional. "I wanted to wear dresses to school. I’ve always thought there was no point to putting a label on anything in regards to gender. I don’t think I’ve ever said this out loud, but I think I’m fluid. Sometimes I identify as more male and sometimes I identify as more feminine. I think that I’m both… and I’m neither.” And that admission comes as Goode has quickly made herself the queen to beat on the show.

On episode 3 of this season when the queens finally got to see all 13 competitors, Hall asked them "What is like y'alls specialty?"

"Name something," Goode responded, making the point that she's an overall queen. She's provided the evidence for that claim every time she steps on the mainstage each week.

It was clear to all early on in the competition that Goode was a look queen — it came down to Goode, Hall, and Nicky Doll as the top performers for aesthetics. But throughout the challenges, the 21-year-old has turned out a talent in comedy and acting, as well as an undeniable personality. That latter point is one many of the show's look queens have historically lacked.

We are relatively still early in the race but given Goode's performance in "Snatch Game" where she was able to show off a penchant for physical comedy, improv, and the ability to stay in character all while looking stunning, she's certainly our one to beat.

netflixJoe Exotic from Netflix's Tiger King.Mikelle Street

Netflix's Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, the crazy tale of major big cat players that dovetails with betrayal and even an alleged murder-for-hir, has become a global phenomenon. For a time it was the most-watched show on the streaming service, and multiple celebrities have tweeted about it. The stars like the gay polygamist Joe Exotic, as well as queen of the "cool cats and kittens," Carole Baskin, have seen their fanbases expand. Oh, and we can't forget our calm king Saff. But, according to one player in the series,  there's another episode of the show left.

If you haven't finished the rollercoaster project, you're not likely to know who Jeff Lowe is, but those of us who binged the entire thing know him well. Lowe, who through a few savvy maneuvers now owns Exotic's old zoo, alleges that on Sunday Netflix filmed one last episode of the series that would air soon.

“Netflix is adding one more episode," he says in the clip, first reported by Variety. The video was done on Cameo by Lowe and his wife and sent to Justin Turner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. "It will be on next week. They’re filming here tomorrow.” Well, will you look at that!

There's no more information on the episode, but our money is on a sort of "reflection." While many reality shows do reunions, given this cast of characters that doesn't seem likely to be in the cards. But giving them all a chance to respond to how they were portrayed, and maybe cause a little more drama? Perfect.

This alleged new episode would be coming in addition to the series currently being worked on. That project is based on the Joe Exotic: Tiger King podcast and is set to star Kate McKinnon as Baskin

Schitt's CreekDan Levy from an interview.Mikelle Street

We are six years in and sadly, the end of Schitt's Creek has come. (Fun fact: Today is the sixth year anniversary of the show's first day of filming.) We have fallen in love with the Rose family with all their quirks. We've even fallen in love with the sleepy, but equally as quirky town of Schitt's Creek, mostly through their eyes. But now, we must bid all of that adieu tonight. In an interview released on the eve of the finale, show creator and star Dan Levy revealed why the end had to come when it did.

"It was a strange day to post the announcement that the show was ending," Levy said in a video posted to the official Schitt's Creek Instagram account as a part of an ongoing series the television series has been airing. "It felt at the time like well,  we can't go back on it once it's out there. I knew it was coming for a year but I never imagined the day that it would happen."That announcement came in March of 2019

Other castmembers called the announcement and subsequent filming of the final season "emotional" and "bittersweet." Emily Hampshire, who plays Stevie Bud on the show, admitted to crying on the plane headed to set. Unlike the majority of the successful shows before it, Schitt's was exiting on an undeniable high.

"I always thought that the minute that I had to question would an extra season change that, would we run out of stories?" Levy said of choosing when to call it quits.

"Would we potentially find some of our characters flatlining in terms of where we could we take them? When that came I had to end it because I would never want to find myself putting something out there for the fans, for the viewers, that I didn't love."

And it's that dedication to quality that has stoked such a fervor among viewers. But there's some hope.

"I think, maybe to keep myself from not falling apart, I tell myself that if there's a story that feels like it needs to be told down the line — if there's a Christmas episode or a movie — then we'll do it," Levy said, reiterating a point he made in an earlier Variety cover story. "The great thing about the show is that nobody is leaving here because they want to, we are rapping this up because we have to."

Yesterday Lady Gaga, an entertainer already known for her philanthropy, announced during a call with the World Health Organization that she and an impressive roster of celebrities will participate in a global televised special on April 18 called One World: Together at Home. Featuring the likes of Elton John, Lizzo, Kacey Musgraves, and more, the event aims to “highlight the singular kind global community and celebrate the power of the human spirit.”

“We are all so very grateful to all of the healthcare professionals across the country and the world who are on the front lines during COVID-19,” said Gaga on the call, according to CBS.

The event comes as a part of Gaga’s work with Global Citizen, with whom she has already raised $35 million in just one week according to a note she posted to Twitter. She also noted that the performance will not be a fundraiser and that instead, the raising of funds will happen prior.

“It has been an honor to partner with Global Citizen over the past several weeks as we’ve been working together behind the scenes to raise money for the World Health Organization COVID19 Solidarity Fund,” she wrote. The Solidarity Fund helps ensure essential supplies are available for patients and frontline workers and accelerates efforts to develop vaccines and treatments.

Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert are set to co-host the special. As of now, the musical lineup includes Alanis Morissette, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong, Burna Boy, Chris Martin, Eddie Vedder, Elton John, FINNEAS, Idris and Sabrina Elba, J Balvin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Lang Lang, Lizzo, Maluma, Paul McCartney, Shah Rukh Khan, and Stevie Wonder.

The live broadcast will begin at 8 p.m. ET on April 18, airing on U.S.-based networks ABC, NBC, ViacomCBS, and iHeartMedia, as well as on Bell Media networks and other Canadian platforms. The next day on April 19, BBC One will run the special along with various international broadcasters.

In addition, the special will also stream on Alibaba, Amazon Prime Video, Apple, Facebook, Instagram, LiveXLive, Tencent, Tencent Music Entertainment Group, TIDAL, TuneIn, Twitch, Twitter, Yahoo, and YouTube.

The effort follows others like it that have seen musicians and performers take their talents online. Last month, Gaga was forced to postpone her album release and cancel a number of live performances.

“Instead I prefer that we spend this time focusing on finding solutions,” she wrote at the time. “It’s important to me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to healthcare professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for meals get the assistance they need, and that we help those who will be financially impacted by this pandemic.” She’s certainly putting those words to action.

“As we honor and support the heroic efforts of community health workers, ‘One World: Together at Home’ aims to serve as a source of unity and encouragement in the global fight to end COVID-19,” said Hugh Evans, co-founder, and CEO of Global Citizen, in a statement. “Through music, entertainment and impact, the global live-cast will celebrate those who risk their own health to safeguard everyone else’s.”

Schitt's CreekPatrick and David getting married on Schitt's CreekMikelle Street

This story contains spoiler from Schitt's Creek's finale of season six.

This moment has been six years in the making — three when you get down to it. Though the show is six years old, and comes to a close tonight, the new milestone in the relationship of one David Rose and one Patrick Brewer, has been only three in the making as the pair only met halfway into the series. Their wedding provided the perfectly emotional and eccentric bow we needed for the show.

Over the years, we've come to know Schitt's Creek as much for its penchant for fashion as much as we have for literally anything else. With something as massive as a wedding, we expected no less than what we got: Alexis Rose in a jawdropping wedding gown as David's escort; Moira Rose in a Mitre and religious gowns as the officiant; and David Rose in a full Thom Browne suit, replete with a kilt, as the groom. This, of course, doesn't even count how the Town Hall has been dressed up for the occasion with more flowers than the town has probably ever seen in one place at one time.

Alexis and David at Schitt's Creek wedding
Moira Rose at Patrick and David's wedding.

The visuals are only one layer. Moira leads the wedding with her trademark vocal eccentricities, taking us on an audible rollercoaster. This came in addition to the live singing that The Jazzagals serenaded us with an a capella version of Tina Turner's "The Best"— a song that means so much to all of us fans. And then, there's Patrick. When we think that things are about to get their sappiest, Mr. Brewer reminds all of us that he likes to sing.

Ever the sentimental one, Patrick winks back to an earlier line from the show telling David that he's his Mariah Carey. To drive home the point, he finishes his vows by turning them into a version of Carey's "Always Be My Baby." Yes, those are tears!

"This show has been the love of my life for the past seven years," Dan Levy, who plays David Rose and helped to create Schitt's Creek, wrote in a note on Twitter. "Getting to tell these stories, build these characters, and watch them grow has been a privilege for which I will always be grateful."

And so will we. (P.S. They totally have to give us a Christmas or Honeymoon special now, right? Right?!)

'Power Rangers' Reboot Will Reportedly Have a Trans Ranger

The move would be historic for the well known series.

According to new reports, the latest Power Rangers reboot will feature a transgender ranger.

According to the pop culture website We Got This Covered, sources close to the studio claim one of the new Rangers will be a trans woman, though it's unclear which character it will be.

News of the film was only announced last December, with director Jonathan Entswistle at the helm. While the last version released in 2017 only had moderate success, it was praised more for its diverse casting and storytelling.

That iteration showed the Yellow Ranger, Trini, coming to terms with her sexual orientation. At one point, another character assumes she's having boy problems, before they come to understand she's actually having "female companion inconveniences."

"For Trini, really she's questioning a lot about who she is," director Dean Israelite told The Hollywood Reporter at the time. "She hasn't fully figured it out yet. I think what's great about that scene and what that scene propels for the rest of the movie is, 'That's OK.' The movie is saying, 'That's OK,' and all of the kids have to own who they are and find their tribe."

We Got This Covered also reported that the Blue Ranger may be gay in the next film, and that the red ranger — typically a fan-favorite — may beplayed by a female, which would be another first in the franchise's history.

While none of this has been confirmed by the studio just yet, diversifying the Power Rangers universe to include more gay, bi, trans, and queer characters would be monumental for young fans.

The show itself has a history of inclusivity in regards to casting. The original 1990s show starred an African-American and an Asian-American as its leads which wouldn't have been common at the time. The Blue Ranger, was played by David Yost who came out in 2010, claiming that he'd quit the show due to homophobia — though executive producers reported that to be false.

Of course, while in recent years there has been a growing visibility of LGBTQ+ superheroes on television due to shows on The CW like Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, Black Lightning, and Supergirl, the movement has been a slow burn in regards to the big screen.

If these rumors are true, we'll certainly be waiting with anticipation!

*RuPaul's Drag Race season 12 has disqualified competitor Sherry Pie for misconduct of a sexual nature but she is still featured in episodic footage.

We are officially at the point in season 12 of RuPaul's Drag Race where the queens have stopped being polite and started getting real — well some of them at least. In a new preview for the show, the queens take some drama that was mostly discussed in Untucked, and give it the primetime slot. But not after Miss Brita gives a bit of a 180.

For the past few weeks, Brita has been letting Aiden Zhane have it — verbally, that is. Whether in confessionals, or to her face, Brita has made it clear that she didn't see it for Zhane's work ethic, and couldn't understand what the judges saw in her either. (It should be noted that neither does Patricia Quinn, apparently.) But now, after sending the performer home, Brita is feeling sad?

"I love Aiden, she stuck with it," Brita said after reading Zhane's mirror message. "I'm proud of that bitch." She went on to proclaim her love for the departed competitor. You see that? That's clown makeup she has on.

As the queens sit on the couches to decompress, Jaida Essence Hall prompts the group to make amends over the drama in Untucked. For those who didn't watch — and like why not, we are in quarantine so you have the time — Gigi Goode and Heidi N Closet got into it after Goode commented on the latter's makeup skills, and Widow Von Du got into it with Jackie Cox and Sherry Pie over not feeling prepared for acting challenges like "Snatch Game."

"I just have one question," Heidi starts in the new clip. "During Untucked, Gigi I don't really understand why you pointed out that I haven't improved makeup-wise." And it just went off the rails from there.

What Goode didn't know, that viewers do, is that Heidi has a personal insecurity in regards to her makeup and appearance overall, meaning that the critique cut a little deeper than it might have for others. And while she tried to apologize and make up for it in this week's episode, Heidi still wasn't ready.

The situation was similar with Von Du. Though the other contestants admitted that they shouldn't be critiquing each other when spirits are already low, Von Du said she couldn't wait for them to experience the same. Well, tell us how you really feel!

On the Main Stage this week, we are returning to the Rusical series the show has famously put on over the last few seasons. This time, it's Madonna up for impersonation with the legendary Jamal Sims (who is also the man behind When the Beat Drops, a dance documentary streaming exclusively on WOW Presents Plus) choreographing. Looks like the shoe is about to be on the other foot for queens who excel at comedy and acting but not so much at performing choreography.

And with Winnie Harlow and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as judges ... I can't wait to see how this turns out.

'Modern Family' Just Ended — A Mitch & Cam Spinoff Is Being Considered

The groundbreaking series put a gay couple front and center long before positive LGBTQ+ representation was the norm.

*This post contains mild spoilers about the finale of Modern Family.

After 11 long years and just as many seasons, ABC's beloved comedy series Modern Family finally aired its much-anticipated, two-hour finale special that saw a surge in viewers last night. Although goodbyes from the ensemble cast are still fresh in the minds of many of the series' fans, there's also talks about potential spinoffs for some of the show's characters — specifically iconic queer couple Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron Tucker (Eric Stonestreet).

When asked by Deadline about the potential for a separate spinoff series centering around Mitch and Cam's move to Missouri, Modern Family co-creators Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd weighed in. While a spinoff didn't play into their decisions to have Mitch and Cam move, the pair said they would be open to the idea of the couple being the focus of their own show.

"No. At the moment I’m personally not thinking about that," Levitan said. "I think that there are a couple of writers who are thinking about well, is there a Mitch and Cam spinoff, but they’re literally just thinking about it. They’re using this time that we have now to think about it, if there’s something there. I’m not driving this but I’m a huge fan of Jesse and Eric, and those characters are of course near and dear to me, and I certainly think that they’re strong enough to carry a show. For me, I really felt that what I needed creatively was to work on something new after working on Modern Family for 12 years and pretty much exclusively."

"No. We wanted to have them off on a new journey, and it seemed symmetrical to have Mitchell follow Cam some place and maybe be around Cam’s family because Cam had played that role in Mitchell’s life for the last 11 years," Lloyd added. "Cam had this opportunity to do something wonderful and exciting, Mitchell felt okay, that makes my obligation to let him chase his dream, and I will go with him and see what that life is like for me."

"Now having said that yes, it does present a possibility for us," Lloyd continued. "Will that happen? I’m not sure but we would be probably dumb to not explore it. However, doing a spinoff is fraught in a lot of ways and we won’t do it unless we feel confident there’s something there, I don’t want to say it’s a long shot, it’s under discussion but we’ll see. We don’t want to jump into something like that, particularly because Modern Family is a tough act to follow, but that is a possibility."

The Emmy-winning series broke ground for introducing the world to Mitch and Cam back in 2009, when positive LGBTQ+ representation was still rare in a mainstream, network TV show. A year before marriage equality was passed on the national level, the couple exchanged their vows in the season 5 two-part finale. This week's finale special garnered a 1.6 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, Deadline reports, and drew in over 7.43 million viewers.

While nothing has been confirmed or even thought about yet, considering the mark Mitch and Cam left on the television landscape, we're sure fans would be more than happy to see the two dads return in some capacity to the small screen.

The writer and star also answered what happens to Patrick and David five years after the show ends.

Schitt's Creek might be over but Dan Levy has a few more morsels of information to give adoring fans. From why Alexis Rose didn't get married to Ted Mullens, to what he envisions for Patrick and David five years into their marriage, Levy is letting it all hang loose.

For huge fans of the series, the break up of Alexis and Ted in season six came as quite the surprise. The pair seemed like they were in it or the long haul, working to figure out the perfect way to allow their careers to continue and foster their love. And then, Alexis broke things off in what has been revealed to be a tearful moment for all on set. According to Annie Murphy, who played Alexis, Levy once mentioned the possibility of a double wedding featuring Alexis getting hitched to Ted while Patrick and David tied the knot.

"Originally, I had thought in the back of my mind that it was going to be an Alexis and Ted wedding," Levy told Noah Reid who plays Patrick, in a recently released video for Entertainment Weekly. "And then — this is actually because of Annie and their relationship— I felt like Annie gave such depth to that character that, for me, that wasn't what her character needed at the end of our show. I feel like Annie sort of breathed such life into that character that Alexis needed autonomy, she needed personal strength, she needed to come out of this show liberated in a way that wasn't necessarily attached to a guy." Wow, talk about looking out for your characters no matter what.

And though David and Patrick just got hitched, GLAAD asked Levy where he sees the pair five years from now.

"I see them happy and I see them settled,"the writer and star said. "I think the choice for David to stay in the town was a big one and it was really him finally just getting over this preoccupation that he has had for so long which is to constantly be someone that is impressive to people. He has lived a lot of his life trying to impress people and he has nobody left to impress. He has found his person and that is all he really needs.”

And all, likely while still in the replica of Kate Winslet's The Holiday cottage.

Ok, but after this can we please halt all content from this show?

netflixJoel McHale and Saff in Netflix new Tiger King SpecialMikelle Street
Netflix's Tiger King has gripped the nation. According to a Variety report, over 34 million people in the United States viewed the series in its first 10 days of streaming. Netflix went on to reveal that these numbers mean its one of the streamer's most popular shows ever, with more viewers than season 2 of Stranger Things. And with the success, has come the desire to build out more content based on the story.

On Sunday, April 12, Netflix will release The Tiger King and I, an aftershow hosted by Joel McHale. The new project will feature "brand new interviews" with a number of the show's stars including Jeff and Lauren Lowe, Joe Exotic's ex-husband John Finlay, and our calm, caring king of reason Saff.

"I talk to a lot of people involved in the project," McHale said in a lo-fi trailer for the special, wearing what we can only describe as Tiger King cosplay — he's shirtless, draped in a few big cat prints a la Carole Baskin, and sports a fake "Netflix" tattoo on his lower abdomen a la Finlay. "[We] see what's happened in their lives since release of the series. It's eye-opening and hopefully funny."

We're expecting that since most of the country has been in quarantine since the initial relesae, the special will similarly be lo-fi. And while we can certainly understand this sort of "reunion" type of project, can we all just agree to put a moratorium on all other related ventures?

Since the show's success, there's been a flurry of announcements of new shows all revisiting the world of Joe Exotic. TMZ has a one-hour special queued up for Monday, April 13 hosted by Harvey Levin on Fox. It plans to examine "outstanding questions about whether or not Joe Exotic is guilty, an inside look into Carole Baskin's husband's disappearance and the current status of the new investigation" according to Variety. That airing will be called TMZ Investigates: Tiger King — What Really Went Down?

Investigation Discover has also greenlit a "definitive sequel" titled Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic, which also — you guessed it — will delve into the namesake's life and rumors around Baskin. It promises exclusive footage and will be told from Exotic's perspective.

Then there's the series starring Kate McKinnon that's based on Joe Exotic, Tiger King the podcast. Yeah ... a whole lot of content!

Joe Exotic and his Tiger King world were good television, that we will not deny. But good television in the "a car crash that just gets worse and worse as you start getting into the carnage" type of way. Should we be giving more attention to Joe Maldonado-Passage, a man who is currently incarcerated for a murder-for-hire, and has reportedly used drugs to lure in lovers and then isolated them from the rest of the world in all of the trademark signs of an abuser? Can we maybe ... like not?

When, where, and who is involved.

RuPaul's Drag RaceTrip from Celebrity Drag RaceMikelle Street
Well ladies, it's here. After being announced late last year, RuPaul's newest iteration of Drag Race is ready to launch, and now with a slightly updated name: Welcome to RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race.

What is it?

The concept is not that hard to understand: take some Drag Race's favorite alum, and pair them up with celebrities to put them in drag. "It's a very British thing to do, to have celebrities participate," Michelle Visage told Entertainment Weekly of the series. "This felt like it was right because this is the type of thing that celebrities want to do and it's amazing." Think of this as a glitzier version of Drag U and Ru's version of HBO's new series We're Here, but with America's Next Celebrity Drag Superstar being crowned at the end of every episode.

Who is involved?

Well it's a secret didn't you hear! The new trailer for the series does not reveal who the celebrities are, though it does show at least one seems to be a guy — although that could be a woman dressed up as a drag king. A release only says there will be three celebrities from "film, music, television, and comedy" featured in each episode.

That said, they have revealed the drag talent that has been brought on board: Alyssa Edwards, Asia O’Hara, Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, Monet X Change, Monique Heart, Nina West, Trinity the Tuck, Trixie Mattel, and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. Yeah, the favorites!

When and how can I watch it?

The new show is a four-week competition that will air during the current season of Drag Race. Kicking off April 24, it will start "after Drag Race followed by Untucked!" Untucked will move to 11:00 p.m. to give space for this hour and a half show.

What do they win?

We haven't seen any confirmations about this yet but we would think/hope this is one o those competitions where the celebrities are competing for the benefit of charities. We'll have to wait and see.

Netflix's 'Money Heist' Slammed for Casting Cis Actor in Trans Role

The criticism comes as the show finally brings a few beautifully complex LGBTQ+ storylines into the fray.

netflixMoney Heist ManilaMikelle Street
Netflix's show Casa de Papel is massively successful. Dubbed Money Heist in English speaking countries, the series is one of the streamers most popular original projects and revolves around a gang of criminals pulling off some major heists. This is the type of show where the "villains" are revealed to be increasingly complex, just like anyone else, and in their own ways the heroes. And with the fourth season having been released this month, the show began to introduce a few similarly complex LGBTQ+ characters and storylines into the narrative. One, in particular, has caught criticism from viewers.

While the first two seasons of the show center around an extremely intricate scheme to rob the Royal Mint of Spain — that is successful, if I may add — the group is brought back together to help on of its own. While running from the law, one of the original members of the crew is arrested, and in a bid to gain his freedom, those who are still at large stage another massive break-in in order to gain leverage to get him out. To do this though, the team gets rounded out.

The new additions to our loveable mob include Palermo, the gay king of the "boom, boom, ciao," as well as Manila, who is trans. We find Palermo in what turns out to be a pretty heartbreaking situation romantically — in short, he loved a straight man who never loved him back and as a result, busies himself with NSA hookups. Manila, on the other hand, tells a bit of her story, explaining the idea of transitioning to her cousin in a pretty well-written way. But some on social media have pointed out that Netflix chose a cisgender actress to do so.

"Okay so is Belen Cuesta (Manila) in Money Heist is Apparently a cisgender woman playing a transgender role," Christa Pata wrote to Twitter. "Now the question is ... WHY NOT CAST A TRANS PERSON FOR A TRANS ROLE?"

The sentiment was echoed by others as well.

While Cuesta no doubt does her role well and is a well-known actress in Spain having won the Spanish equivalent to an Academy Award, Netflix did miss out on an opportunity to shine a light on a growing group of trans actresses who could have filled the role. This could have proven to be a breakout moment for the right person.

This comes as a part of a longstanding conversation about who should fill the roles of LGBTQ+ characters. Cuesta feels that it should all be open.

"A cisgender actress can play a transgender woman or a transgender woman can play a cisgender woman,"the actress told El Espanol in an interview while saying that she "supports" trans actors and actresses. And while this would be great in an ideal world, it's not reality.

If the world were perfect, it would be nice to see everyone being able to play all roles but the reality is that's not what is happening. LGBTQ+ actors who have come out about their sexuality or gender identity have seen a loss of jobs and when they are booked for jobs, only jobs that are LGBTQ+. Meanwhile, cisgender heterosexual performers can book them all.

If Cuesta — and Netflix — truly want to support trans talent, sometimes the best thing you can do is knowing when to say no to a job.

*RuPaul's Drag Race season 12 has disqualified competitor Sherry Pie for misconduct of a sexual nature but she is still featured in episodic footage.

In last night's episode of Untucked, the U.S. Congresswoman Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez proclaimed that season 12's Ru-sical, centered on Madonna, was the best in the history of RuPaul's Drag Race. She's a Drag Race superfan, having used the show as her bit of relaxation back in her bartending days, but continued her fandom well into her tenure as a politician. And she was not wrong!

Madonna: The Unofficial Ru-sical was quite the performance by the remaining queens on the show. Was it perfect? No, not quite. Brita and Jackie Cox were low points of the night, but both were still fairly decent!
The mainstage showing came amid a pretty standout episode overall. There was the bit of drama with Heidi N Closet, Gigi Goode, Widow Von'Du, Sherry Pie, and Jackie Cox for those who are into that. We had a little uncertainty about how the mainstage might go because of the rehearsals featuring Cox's ... interesting hip rolls and Goode's lack of confidence about her performance. There was also Crystal Methyd and Heidi's extremely personal moments of talking about their family — Heidi told the story of her uncle who died of complications related to AIDS, while Methyd revealed that her father, with whom she has a close relationship with, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Add to that Ru bringing out the good drag, and the contestants recreating iconic Michelle Visage moments on the runway while Cortez judged ... it was a night for the books.

In the Ru-sical, the tops were clear to all: Jan, Goode, and Jaida Essence Hall. Yeah, I said it! Jaida should have been in the top — that was a woman up there on that stage. A female impersonator indeed.

It'll be interesting to see how things go from this point. With Brita gone, we won't have to be reminded how much she thinks she's the queen to beat, but hopefully losing out on the Rusical doesn't cause Jan to take the spot of "bitter queen from The City." We could hear the Kill Bill sequence playing as Goode was announced as the winner.

But also, Goode seems like the girl to beat! Her win last night was historic in that she is the fastest queen in herstory to win three maxi-challenge as noted by journalist Kevin O'Keeffe. It also should be noted that she is the youngest to ever compete on America's version of Drag Race

Go Gigi, go!
