Love, Victor's new excerpt is filled with coming-of-age memories.

Do you remember it? Do you remember being a young queer, coming into yourself and finding yourself with one of your first crushes? Maybe you went out of your way to spend extra time with the person? Their most mundane tasks became points of adoration? Well, all of those feelings come encapsulated in the first trailer for Hulu's Love, Victor, a spinoff of the 2018 film Love, Simon.

In the new clip, the titular Victor appears applying for a barista job at a coffee shop. It becomes pretty evident that Benji, the assistant manager, and Victor's schoolmate, is an object of affection. While Benji shows Victor how to pull a shot of espresso, the trailer gives him the slow-mo Baywatch treatment as Victor looks on. It all comes to a foamy conclusion before Victor runs out.

"There's a first time for everything," the official Hulu Twitter account wrote when sharing the trailer. "Check out the VERY FIRST clip of Love, Victor, premiering June 19 — only on Hulu."

As a spin-off of Love, Simon, Love, Victor was initially slated to appear on Disney+. In February, the streamers announced that the show had been handed off, some speculating that it wasn't "family-friendly" enough for Disney.

While Greg Berlanti, the man behind Love, Simon, is not involved with Love, Victor, Nick Robinson who played Simon is the narrator and executive producer while Elizabeth Berger and Isac Aptaker who were writers for Love, Simon serve as screenwriters and co-showrunners for the new series.

Victor is being played by Michael Cimino, who is not known to be queer. The character is closeted and reportedly a soccer star. Benji is being played by George Sear. His character is reportedly "totally at ease with being out of the closet."

Well, it's here! After being initially announced late last year, the debut episode of RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race has begun to air. Kicking off immediately after Drag Race season 12's latest episode, the four-part series introduced viewers to the first three celebrity contestants: Nico Tortorello, Jordan Connor, and Jermaine Fowler.

While the list was kept as much under wraps as possible, eagle-eyed fans had already surmised that Nico Tortorella would compete, given the tattoos they spotted in a preview. While on the show, they mentioned that they had first been put in drag five years ago.

Connor is known for his role on Riverdale and Fowler is a comedian.

The contestants are competing for the title of America's Next Celebrity Drag Race Superstar as well as $30,000 for a charity of their choice.

Tortorella chose Transgender Law Center, Connor chose Cystic Fibrosis Canada, and Fowler chose Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network.

The three were paired up with three Queen Supremes in Bob the Drag Queen, Monet X Change, and Trixie Mattel. As advisors, they helped to transform the competitors for a variety of challenges familiar to the Drag Race fandom. For the first episode the boys had to get into quick drag — unassisted — for a mini-challenge, prior to preparing for their maxi-challenge.

In the other three episodes of the special, viewers can prepare to see Alyssa Edwards, Asia O’Hara, Kim Chi, Monique Heart, Nina West, Trinity the Tuck, and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo as Queen Supremes.

Future celebrity contestants will only be revealed during their respective episodes.

'Drag Race' Fans Think Gigi Goode and Crystal Methyd Are Dating

After appearing to exchange a kiss, the chatter has really ramped up.

RuPaul's Drag RaceCrystal Methyd and Gigi GoodeMikelle Street

Season 11 of RuPaul's Drag Race was a fun one. It gave us one of the most iconic lip syncs to date with Brooke Lynn Hytes and Yvie Oddly. And it gave us Branjie, the series' first onscreen queen-on-queen romance— this isn't to invalidate cross season romances like Sahara Davenport and Manila Luzon or Alaska Thunderfuck and Sharon Needles. But, in the case of kai kai on set, it seems the show is going back to that well.

For the past few weeks, some of the fandom has been poring through footage, photos, and social media posts to deduce what they believe to be a relationship between competitors Gigi Goode and Crystal Methyd. It started, according to JakeyonceTV, a popular YouTuber that covers internet drama and gossip, after Goode said the pair "may or may not be dating" on an Instagram Live. Methyd would later say that she was quarantined with her boyfriend — who is decidedly not Goode.

On multiple occasions the fans have tried to confront the pair with the question: in a clip that's posted to Twitter, Methyd is answering submitted questions on Instagram when she opens one mistakenly opens one asking if the pair are dating. She quickly swipes to the next one. But now, with footage of Methyd and Goode holding hands and even seemingly exchanging a kiss on the lips, things seem all but confirmed — it should be noted that their lips don't exactly touch, but they are also in full drag which makes it a bit difficult. Goode has gone so far as to post fan art of the two, described as "soulmates" onto Instagram.

"Right now we'd like to keep our private life private," Methyd told Jakeyonce. "I can't put into words how I feel about Miss Goode. Just know we are soulmates." Well then!

Most of the most hardcore fans have come to the conclusion that the pair are not actually dating but have essentially crafted a narrative for PR — we saw how much merch that Hytes and Mateo sold. And while that's a pretty good assessment, please don't mind us as we root for this storyline as long as it lasts.

And if they, as a pair, are leaning into it, why not?!

Following the airing of RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race's first episode, there has been quite a bit of discussion online about the queens who appeared on the show. Though Bob the Drag Queen, Trixie Mattel, and Monet X Change were the ones that fans show in the hour and a half long special, it was others that did at least some of the makeup that appeared on the show as revealed in a series of social media posts this weekend.

"Showbusiness is a funny business," Shannel, a Drag Race season 1 alum who helped on set posted to Instagram. "I started my career as a makeup artist and a performer and have been blessed to have a wild ride so far. For whatever reason, my appearance on Celebrity Drag Race was cut. And although, I am unsure as to why I was fortunate enough to work amongst amazing talented people and my Drag Race sisters as a makeup artist on the full season of Celebrity Drag Race. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed being apart of it." In the comment section, Delta Work pointed out that Shannel had also worked alongside Mathu Andersen on the ill-fated Drag U

Well, now Drag Race is releasing the footage.

Though the show has not released an official statement, a new "Bonus Clip" shows Shannel giving tips to the three contestants. And while none of the footage shows her helping to put their makeup on, a caption does say that she helped "to transform them into total glamazons." The presence of cameramen and staff in the mirror of the shots could be part of the reason that the footage never made the final cut.

Laila McQueen and Mayhem Miller were credited, like Shannel, as creative consultants on the episode. Similar footage has not yet surfaced of them in the episode.

Jim Parsons Says There's A Lot of Skin In Netflix's 'Hollywood'

The gay actor revealed the "shocking" amount of flesh on display during one swimming-pool scene.

A scene in Netflix's Hollywood made even Jim Parsons blush.

In a Zoom session with The Ellen Show, the gay actor discussed his role of Henry Wilson — a talent agent who discovered Rock Hudson — in the upcoming Ryan Murphy reimagining of Old Hollywood.

The series, in very Murphy fashion, brings queer themes (and actors, in the case of Hudson, played by Jake Picking) out of the closet. And Parsons revealed to DeGeneres another aspect it shines a light on: nudity.

Filming one scene by a swimming pool, in particular, was "really awkward and shocking" to Parsons for the sheer amount of nakedness on display by the extras," he told the host on a recent episode.

“I’ve gone to a lot of gay clubs in my time, and I’ve never seen that many naked people at once, ever. I don’t think that’s legal in most places,” The Big Bang Theory star said. “We were surrounded by so many naked people. I just kept trying not to look, but there really came a point – I mean, it was hours we were doing this – I stopped not trying to look at some points.

“I was just like, you know what? What I really feel is admiration. To have that kind of relationship with your body that you’re able to just walk around naked in front of this huge crew, and all these other actors and everything, in and out of the swimming pool, I was like, 'I am in awe.' That is the healthiest, I think, type of [view]."

Parsons also confirmed that there "wasn’t a bad looking one in the bunch. They worked for that confidence – or they were born with it, I don’t know."

In the spirit of Hollywood, Parsons also gave impromptu Hollywood personas like Clint Eastwood, Marilyn Monroe, Cher, and Oprah on The Ellen Show to raise $10,000 for GLSEN, an organization supporting LGBTQ+ students.

According to Netflix, Hollywood aims to spotlight "the unfair systems and biases across race, gender and sexuality that continue to this day." To DeGeneres, Parsons said the series is a fantasy that asks the question, "What would life be like now had Hollywood done things like this 80 years ago?"

In addition to Parsons and Picking, the cast features Laura Harrier, Jeremy Pope, Dylan McDermott, Holland Taylor, Samara Weaving, Michelle Krusiec, Queen Latifah, and Patti LuPone.

Hollywood premieres May 1 on Netflix. Watch the recently released opening credits below.

This Is Why Hulu's Little Fires Everywhere Is So Queer

Showrunner Liz Tigelaar discusses why she changed the sexual IDs of characters who were not queer in the book.

Hulu's limited series Little Fires Everywhere is one of many shows the internet has been streaming over the past few weeks. With LGBTQ+ storylines, familial drama, and ... well, little fires everywhere, it became a bit of a guilty pleasure. Tie all of that in with the pretty amazing acting of stars and executive producers Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon, and you've got a must-watch. But if readers of the  Celeste Ng novel that inspired the series are wondering where all of the queer visibility came from, let us introduce you to co-executive director Liz Tigelaar.

For Tigelaar, Little Fires Everywhere“felt so intersectional in so many ways. Including a queer character felt like the right addition.” In a recent interview for Autostraddle, she revealed why one of the shows leads, the teenaged Izzy, was given the coming-of-age queer treatment.

“Celeste said she’d been thinking about Izzy being gay, but hadn’t had the real estate to include it in the story,” Tigelaar said. But for the television version, she says, “It felt like something worthy of exploration — in this town, in the Midwest, in the ‘90s.”

Ng, an Asian-American, also says she originally wanted to make the character of Mia a woman of color but ultimately “didn’t feel like I was the right person to try to bring a Black woman’s experience to the page.” But with Washington on board, the decision was made to move forward with that idea for the televised version.

“Initially, I had wanted to write [Mia and her daughter, Pearl] as people of color,” Ng told The Atlantic in a recent interview. “I thought of them as people of color, because I knew I wanted to talk about race and class, and those things are so intertwined in our country and in our culture.”

The show is not afraid to take on tough issues like as hushed racism, classism, homophobia, and abortion — and ‘90s cultural touchstones like The Real World and Teva sandals further ground Little Fires in a very authentic, non-campy reality. Tigelaar says setting the show in the late 1990s was an intentional device employed to examine what it meant, and means today, to be queer or a person of color (or both) in an era when the mainstream perpetuated the façade that racism and homophobia no longer existed.

“Obviously, queer kids still struggle enormously, especially in certain communities or parts of the country, but as a whole there has been tremendous change since the ‘90s in terms of laws and mindsets and inclusiveness. So now, in a 2020 world, where so many kids identify as queer or simply don’t want to be declarative and box themselves in, it felt like it would be meaningful to explore a time when our society’s thinking was so narrow.”

She adds it was also important for her to show that some of the characters didn’t quite have their sexualities all figured out.

“I also love the idea that Izzy doesn’t know what she is,” Tigelaar told Autostraddle. “She just knows her first real feelings and experiences were with her best friend, who has broken her heart. And it hurts. And she knows that she feels this deep connection to Mia — she may not understand her feelings, but she knows her life feels livable because Mia is in it.”

For the next three weeks, there's a whopping three and a half hours of the RuPaul Cinematic Universe airing on VH1. It kicks off with the latest episode of RuPaul's Drag Race season 12, before heading into an episode of the four-part RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race, and finishing with Untucked! It comes at a moment where there's an unprecedented amount of drag on television, arguably as a direct result of the show. And now the numbers are in for how well it's doing.

According to a report from Deadline, the night that Celebrity Drag Race debuted, VH1 scored the highest-ratest Friday night in over a decade. Yeah, you read that right:10 years! For those who are interested in the numbers, the Drag Race episode earned a 0.64 in the 18-49 demographic. This was the second-highest-rated episode of the season, likely coming behind the debut. Celebrity Drag Race's debut earned 0.58. These numbers contributed to the channel's highest-rated Friday night since 2007.

But people are obviously taking notice of the popularity of drag. The owners of VH1 have kicked RuPaul's Drag Race: All Starsover to Showtime for its fifth season to boost subscriptions and interest in that premium channel. Show alum Shangela, Eureka, and Bob the Drag Queen are all also fronting HBO's new series We're Here. Plus, there's Thorgy Thor, Alexis Michelle, Bebe Zahara Benet, and Jujubee are making over brides-to-be ini TLC's Dragnificent. In terms of streaming, Trixie and Katya are always adding to their projects which include a YouTube show with Netflix as well as their longrunning show UNHhhh. Plus there's Sasha Velour with her amazing Quibi series NightGowns and Monet X Change's BUILD talk show The X Change Rate.

Executive producer Ryan Murphy reveals all the details about the future of the series including what season it will end.

Fans devoured season one of Netflix's The Politician, and a second serving is on its way! Starring Tony Award-winner Ben Platt, the show follows Payton as he campaigns to be the Student Body President of his Santa Barbara high school, thinking it's his launchpad into the U.S. Presidency one day. But once he wins and uncovers his own ennui, his life quickly spirals (as much as a wealthy kid's can) as he attempts to discover what will truly make him happy.

In the midst of a pandemic, many television and film productions have been shut down, leaving fans worried about the futures of their favorite shows. Thankfully, The Politician completed production of season 2 just before the lockdown began, producer Ryan Murphy confirms, and Peyton will be gracing our television screens sooner than you think.

“We were lucky enough that we finished filming and editing right before the coronavirus thing happened,” Murphy told Collider. “We have seven [episodes]. We finished all of our episodes. We have a great second season and I think we’re trying to figure out how do we mix them now in the social distancing age. I think we’ve figured it out."

Season 2 is coming mid-June and Murphy says he's "really proud of it. I love what we came up with, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan and I."

New episodes will pick up right where season one left off, three years after the student body antics with our gang of friends in New York City, firing up Payton’s campaign against Senator Dede Standish, played by Judith Light.

"I love how Payton has grown up," says Murphy. "He’s now in college, and the best thing about the season is the Ben Platt versus Bette Midler and Judith Light aspect. It feels very adult, it feels very topical. It’s sort of a story about baby boomers asking themselves, 'Is it time for us to pass the power that we have onto the next generation or are they too dumb to figure it out yet?' And I think you can see that battle playing out daily in our political landscape."

Murphy hints at more mature themes. "It’s a very cutthroat race that they run. It feels much more adult, much more sexualized. It’s really great. And Ben, but particularly Judith and Bette Midler really, I think, their performances are extraordinary.”

Murphy also revealed plans on ending the show after just three seasons, but the third might not be filmed for a few years. "I think where season two ends, what I would love to do is take a couple of years off and have Ben Platt get a little bit older for his final race. That would obviously be a presidential race, right? That’s always what we had designed, and I think that’s what our plan is."

“I’m going to wait. Ben is young, so I want to wait a couple of years to figure out how we age him up a little bit. But that’s always been my plan.”

*This post contains small spoilers from RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race episode 2.

Another episode of RuPaul's Drag Race down, and the second episode of RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race to go! In a week where Drag Race proper made over a group of female superfans of the show, now it's time for the Queen Supremes of Celebrity Drag Race to put their brushes to a similar task.

For those who turned into the first of the four-part Celebrity Drag Race special, it was Nico Tortorella, Jordan Connor, and Jermaine Fowler getting all gussied up to hit the mainstage. This week, it's all women.

Loni Love was the first contestant to walk into the Werk Room. Love is an Emmy winning talkshow host that notably is on The Real. Tami Roman was the second, know most notably for Basketball Wives. Last up and certainly not the least was Vanessa Williams, who made history as the first African-American woman to win Miss America. She's, of course, become known for many other things since then.

"I wanted to be a part of RuPaul's Drag Race because I judged twice and to do drag," Williams said. "It's out of my comfort zone."

The three contestants will be put through their paces for the title of America's Next Celebrity Drag Race Superstar — it's worth noting that you only keep the crown for a week. They will be mentored by Queen Supremes Trinity the Tuck, Asia O'Hara, and Alyssa Edwards. Last week news surfaced that the Queen Supremes aren't the only drag performers helping out the contestants on set as Shannel, Mayhem Miller, and Laila McQueen were credited as creative consultants for the episode.

The competition consists of signature Drag Race challenges. For the first week, they competed in the Snatch Game

At the end of the show, all three contestants compete in a lip sync. Afterward, the winner of the episode awarded $30,000 to a charity of their choice. The prize also comes with a crown and scepter.

RuPaul's Drag RaceRuPaul's Drag RAce lip syncHeidi and Jackie lip syncMikelle Street

*This post contains spoilers from the last episode of RuPaul's Drag Race season 12.

The last great lip sync — where both competitors had stand-out performances — on RuPaul's Drag Race was arguably last season. You remember the one: Brooke Lynn Hytes and Yvie Oddly, two of the season's strongest competitors, found themselves in the bottom facing off against one another. They pulled backbends, flips, reveals, and everything else they needed to in a presentation that resulted in a double "shantay, you stay." And while tonight's episode felt similar to that legendary moment, there was a distinct difference: the latest lip sync shows two different styles of performance.

As we all know, there are multiple ways to pull off a good lip sync performance. Some performers aim to emulate an actual musical performance. They pour their heart and emotions into it or punch it up with energetic dance moves — many of which would not be possible if they also had to sing — to make you feel the track in the way the original recording artist did. Of the most memorable performances in this vein, as noted by Sasha Velour in her Quibi show NightGowns, are those who in some way change how you hear the song. Think of Peppermint at the season 9 finale of Drag Race — her two claps during Britney Spears'"Stronger" brought out a detail of the music that many hadn't heard before. There are many more exaggerated examples, but sometimes the performance is truly in the details. There is also another style of performance that can prove just as powerful, and just as moving — if but in a different direction. Welcome to the comedic lip sync.

Comedy has long been a part of drag performance — as long as almost any other type honestly. And while there's certainly a strain that can be of the slapstick, low-hanging fruit variety, at its best, it can also be heartfelt and reveal something about the lyrics, the audience, or the performer. Think of Manila Luzon and her facial expressiveness while performing "MacArthur Park." Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez do a pretty amazing job covering the history of lip syncs in their book Legendary Children: The First Decade of RuPaul’s Drag Race and the Last Century of Queer Life and cover both of these types of performance.

Drag Race's latest lip sync for your life shows both of these lineages of performance as valid. While Heidi Aphrodite (née N. Closet) gives us a performance of "Kill the Lights" from her heart that even Alex Newell would be proud of, Jackie Cox gave us something just as heartfelt, but from a different perspective. Taking the song and turning into a "crazy lady" who is so blinded by her desire for a man that she doesn't realize how manic her actions are, she gave the judges more than a few chuckles, and provided the audience with a show — this was no doubt something to be proud of as well.

"She was full Gilda Radner," Michelle Visage told Ru of Cox as the performance came to a close, referencing an iconic comedic actress. Radner was notably one of the original members of Saturday Night Live. And the comment was true.

This is where Drag Race shines: when the show is able to show different types of drag as valid and deserving of attention. Whether it be the spooky drag of Sharon Needles, the pageant glamour of Trinity the Tuck, the female impersonation of Jaida Essence Hall, the creative cooky-ness of Crystal Methyd, or the aesthetics-focused appeal of Violet Chachki, there is a space for it all. Given this, it is a wonder that the show's main problem is that it refuses to continue to expand this wide ranging appreciation by welcoming trans performers presenting as they are on the show, as well as bio queens and drag kings in ways that aren’t mired in controversy. (For some the inclusion of Sonique in a holiday special, and Gia Gunn in All Starshave their own criticisms.)

Using this now-global platform to praise these other just-as-valid forms of performance would only strengthen the show's status as not only one of the most diverse shows on television, but one of the most uplifting. Until then, I guess we’ll have to make due with this lip sync.

The second episode of the four-part RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race special was one for the history books. Sure it may have not been historic per se, but with three beloved celebrity contestants, an iconic cameo, and a pretty amazing Rusical, it was an hour and a half of quality television! And while we will get to recapping it all later, we do want to take a second to recognize a few sexy men first.

As Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez point out in their book Legendary Children: The First Decade of RuPaul’s Drag Race and the Last Century of Queer Life, you can find the various aspects of queer culture embedded in the various tentpoles of Drag Race. The feeling of community in the Werk Room, shade and reading in Untucked or the reading challenge, and the longrunning "beefcake" aesthetic as exemplified by the show's Pit Crew as well as backup dancers for various numbers. Well, Secret Celebrity Drag Race pulls that over into its format.

On last night's episode, during the Twerkin 5 to 9 performance choreographed by creative director and Drag Race mainstay Jamal Sims, fans were treated to an eyeful of abs during Loni Love's performance. While in character as Mary J. Ross — who was, in turn, playing the character Lily — Love took to the stage with two shirtless dancers who gave her a little bump and grind action we are a little jealous of. Introducing to some and re-introducing to others Ektor Silva and Michael Silas.

Hardcore fans of the show will recognize both of the dancers as they've performed on Drag Race before. And more than just on the show — Silas was one of the pit crew members in RuPaul's Drag Race Live in Vegas

But it's not just Drag Race that keeps these MSA Agency dancers working. Between the two of them, they've worked for Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, and more. Yeah: RESUMES!

Hopefully, we get to see a lot more of them! Until then, at least we have their Instagram accounts.

Netflix's new limited series Hollywood, which stands as a revisionist retelling of Tinseltown's Golden Era is looking like a hit. Though it's only been on the streaming network for four days, the show has already hit the top 10 streamed projects according to executive producer Janet Mock. People have come to love the cotton candy drama that reimagines the actual histories of queer stars, giving them happier endings than the ones they lived. But the choices that series creator Ryan Murphy made were intentional, mostly arising from his own history.

“I wanted to do something specifically on three Hollywood icons who had, I believed, really been treated poorly,” Murphy told The Advocate in a recent interview. “That was Rock Hudson and Anna May Wong and Hattie McDaniel. I was very interested in them, even as a kid.” In the series, Wong and Hudson find their success, uncompromised by their identities while McDaniel functions as a bit of a mentor for a rising starlet, enjoying things she previously couldn't through her mentee's success.

“I was writing a lot about my own experience and my own pain and my own background in this piece, maybe more so than anything since I've done since The Normal Heart,” Murphy said. The Normal Heart is the 2014 film starring Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, Jim Parsons, and Joe Mantello based on the play of the same name. “When I came to town, the men in power could really give a shit about me. I was never mentored. It was the women who were the outsiders who said, 'You have something unusual; I'm going to give you an opportunity.'”

“That role [Avis] was me paying tribute to all of the women who have pushed my stuff through the system,” Murphy continued. Avis is played by Patti LuPone, a Murphy favorite. “In the case of Holland and Patti, I think it's a very powerful thing to write women as objects of desire and power, let alone, Holland and Patti are both in their 70s. People always put an expiration date on women.”

But the writing wasn't only influenced by Murphy's experience, it included Mock's as well.

“One thing that is tough for me as someone who comes from all of these different communities, as a femme, as a woman, as a trans person, a native Hawaiian, a Black woman, and as a former sex worker as well, is that I have to constantly try to validate my experience and why I'm worthy of voice and taking up space in this industry," she told The Advocate.

“If we were to say that back then in 1947-48, that that was the beginning of a revolution in terms of representation that now, baby Janet coming up in the industry, I would be able to just write, I would just be able to direct, I would just be able to create, then that's what I hope for every single creative out there, that they get to do that.” And it's something she ends up showing through the characters of Archie and Camille.

Ryan Murphy may have been feeling randy on Sunday evening — or indulged in some quarantine cocktails — because he playfully teased fans about a show he's writing for two of his favorite actors.

Murphy posted on Instagram that he's writing a show for Leslie Jordan, Will & Grace icon and gay pandemic superstar, and Dylan McDermott, the ageless beefcake from the first American Horror Story (and not to be confused with Dermot Mulroney of My Best Friend's Wedding).

"So yes it's TRUE I am writing a project for national treasures Leslie Jordan and Dylan McDermott to star in together," Murphy posted. "Should it be a romance? A buddy comedy? A heist movie? All I know is Leslie is going to be fabulously wealthy in it, and Dylan will have a backstory as a former masseur."

McDermott not only helped kick off AHS, he appeared in several iterations of the show, as well as The Politician and the currently-airing Hollywood, both from the mind of Murphy. Jordan has also been a fixture of AHS, appearing in the Coven, Roanoke, and 1984 seasons.

Don't expect to soon see Jordan swanning about a mansion while McDermott oils himself up. Hollywood has pretty much stopped filming amid the ongoing pandemic and Murphy already has plenty of projects in the works, including a Billie Lourd project, a production of Boys in the Band, and a TV show about an evil nurse, co-starring Sarah Paulson, Judy Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Sharon Stone, Rosanna Arquette, and Amanda Plummer.

*Yes, this post contains spoilers sis!

RuPaul has a thing for aiming to gag the girls — we are almost guaranteed a "for the first time in Drag Race herstory" every season. That paid off in a big way this weekend in the second episode of the four-part RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race when Mama Ru turned out an episode with celebrities with a capital C as contestants as well as a cameo by the one and only Dolly Parton. The show was truly an hour and a half of quality television. But in our excitement about that greatness, we may have spoiled the rest of the season!

Fans may remember that following the first episode, it was revealed that a trio of queens that weren't featured on the show helped to do the contestants' makeup. Curious about whether or not the same had happened for the second episode, we went on a search of the credits. Before we got there though, we found what looks to be the list of "secret" celebrities slated for the show's final two episodes.

As depicted in previews, the next episode of Celebrity Drag Race is a roast. Nina West, Kim Chi, and Bob the Drag Queen have all been previewed as the show's Queen Supremes — and with good reason, as they are all pretty great comics. And, according to the full credits on an official page for Celebrity Drag Race that Out found,* the stars they will be mentoring include Schitt's Creek's Dustin Milligan, comedian Matt Iseman, as well as singer and actor Alex Newell. Iseman notably won an episode of Lip Sync Battle and as a comedian, no doubt has experience doing roasts. But Newell will certainly give him a run for his money as a multihyphenate, whose track "Kill the Lights was the song for Drag Race season 12's latest lip sync.

This leaves the fourth and final episode of the Secret Celebrity special. According to the credits, this will be a "Dragzilla"-titled show, which we would assume is aimed at serving up the spooky drag we love. But with Queen Supremes Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, Alyssa Edwards, and Monique Heart on board, maybe that's not the point. No matter, those same credits have revealed singer Madison Beer, singer Hayley Kiyoko, as well as comedian and 2 Dope Queens co-host Phoebe Robinson.

Well, now with the Secret gone we can go back to calling it RuPaul's Celebrity Drag Race.

Dan Levy Breaks Down Moira Rose's Wedding Officiant Look

The backstory of one of Schitt's Creek's final moments.

In the famed — but sadly now ended — Schitt's Creek, clothes were important. Integral even. As the show was centered around a family of down on their luck big spenders, the apparel of the Rose family told as many stories as Moira Rose's accent. And that was purposeful.

“I looked at how Patricia Field played with clothes in [Sex and the City,]” show creator and star Dan Levy told us in his first cover story for Out. “For us, I don’t want the characters to constantly have to tell the audience, ‘We used to be rich.’ So the most effective device we had sometimes was their wardrobe — it’s a constant reminder they came from money.” So Levy put a lot of time and effort into the fashion aspect of the show, hunting and paying for pieces on his own accord. The show even hosted a charitable auction of many of the looks featured. And in the finale episode, the style truly stood out.

In addition to the sentimental moment of Alexis Rose having given Twyla Sands many of the dresses she had previously worn onscreen — which Sands promptly began to wear — there were the looks from the wedding. Levy, as David Rose wore a Thom Browne suit while Alexis donned a beautiful Michael Lo Sordo gown. But as any true fan of the show knows, Moira Rose is the one to keep an eye out for.

"A moment of appreciation for this look that took us a solid month to figure out," Levy wrote to Instagram in a new post, featuring Moira in her officiant-cum-pope look. "I found the [Alexander McQueen] dress on consignment. The Bottecelli hair came to me in a dream and Ana Sorys ran with the idea and created yet another iconic Moira wig/hair band."

Sorys has styled the upwards of 100 wigs Moira has worn in the show in addition to doing hair for Eugene Levy, Dan's father who plays Johnny Rose, and Annie Murphy's Alexis.

The McQueen was one of five or six options that Levy had sourced according to an interview he did with GLAAD and the beaded skull in the back sealed the deal. According to him, it was actually Catherine O'Hara, who plays Moira, who made the suggestion that they do a nod to the pope and incorporate the wig into the hat.

"Our incredible wardrobe department (spearheaded by the great Debra Hanson) made the hat and assembled the look: some over the top costume jewelry, golden gloves, and matching gold Tom Ford knee-high boots," Dan continued in his post. "This look is a love letter to all the incredible art departments that worked tirelessly alongside each other to bring our ideas to life in the most inspiring ways week after week, episode after episode. What a team. And what a send-off."

Honestly, we can't wait to recreate it at the next Night of 1,000 Moiras.

Looks like it's another series, digitally that is!

When RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race launched, it promised three queens functioning as Queen Supremes every episode. Those performers would mentor their would-be celeb contestants, getting them into drag for the Main Stage. And while that is certainly happening, quite quickly we all found out that those weren't the only drag artists helping out on set. Show credits included the likes of Laila McQueen, Mayhem Miller, and Shannel as creative consultants. Then we found out that those were the creatives that did the Main Stage makeup for the first episode.

Shortly after the first of the four-part special aired, Drag Racereleased a "bonus clip" featuring Shannel meeting all of the celebrities. Now, it seems that was the part of a new series being pushed on the show's Instagram.

In the latest clip, Raven meets Vanessa Williams, Tami Roman, and Loni Love as they are getting their makeup done. Having competed on two seasons of Drag Race, become RuPaul's very own makeup artist for getting into drag, and made cameos on multiple seasons of the show, she is indeed Drag Race royalty as Trinity the Tuck says.

"So I'm here because I had nothing better to do and I'm still working off my community service," Raven says in the clip. Community service by way of paid that no doubt hefty coin Ru pays to get her makeup done? We aspire! It's unclear whether or not Raven, like Shannel, had helped any of the celebrities get into drag.

"When is the last time you've been in this much makeup?" she asked Williams.

"I've never had the waxed brow," Williams, who was getting into a Dolly Parton look, answered. "I've never had such deep contour, so this is the most. I need this look though. This is amazing." She gestured to the outfit Raven was wearing.

"That eye makeup!" Asia O'Hara added.

Listen, when Vanessa Williams gives you a compliment, you take it!

Oh, and two of the extras in the show were adult performers.

Netflix's Hollywood is beautiful. It's shot with that Ryan Murphy "baroque" eye of glamour and a little bit of excess, saturated in color. And apparently, that same treatment originally was supposed to be given to a gay sex scene.

As a part of the now virtual promo tour for the show the cast all joined Stars In the House for an hour-long streaming chat. While talking David Corenswet, who plays the show's straight lead Jack Castello and Jeremy Pope, who played Archie Coleman revealed that on the first day on set there was initially talk of getting fitted for prosthetics.

"So the first phone call that I ever got from Jeremy, he and I had met up in Los Angeles after we knew that we were both working on it, and we wanted to get to know each other," Corenswet said. "Then the first time I saw his name come up on his phone and I answered it and he said 'So David, are you going to wear a prosthetic?'" While the actor initially thought Pope might have meant a facial prosthetic since the cast knew that Jake Picking's character Rock Hudson would have some surgery done to make him more of a leading man in the eyes of his manager Henry Wilson— that was not the case.

"There were a lot of conversations early on about how we were going to shoot this very graphic script that we had been given," Corenswet continued. "And very important people in a lot of departments made a lot of plans, most of which didn't get used."

Before the call, Pope had received the script for the first two scenes that didn't clue him in to any onscreen intercourse, but after the first day of filming, the prosthetics team asked him to come in for a fitting. He initially thought that maybe his character, Coleman, got beat up and he needed lips or something.

"They're like 'Oh you don't know ok, let me have someone get in contact with you,'" Pope said. "Then I started putting the pieces together and realized that we're not talking about anything above the waist of a prosthetic. Then we had a conversation about what is the long game." The long game ended up being scrapping the scene but it was a part of a larger, raunchier vision for the show.

According to the actors in the stream, the initial script was graphic and was eventually toned down.

"We can talk about it now," Darren Criss said during the show.  "There was no fucking numbers on the dial for how raunchy it was and we were kind of like 'Oh ok.' They dialed it back severely to kind of focus on the heart and the hope which I think was a good move."

"There were scenes that I clutched my pearls at," he continued. "There were scenes that I did things and read things that made me nervous." Everyone agreed that even descriptions of various scenes were "uber salacious," giving super-charged sexual energy to the show. Laura Harrier, who plays Camille described the initial read through as "terrifying."

As anyone who has seen the show knows, though there is a bit of sexual content, it's not incredibly salacious or raunchy. But there were a few adult easter eggs hidden in the show.

According to the gay adult industry blog Queer Me Now (yes this link is NSFW), there are at least two performers from skin flicks that appear in the show. One appears in the first episode — mild spoilers incoming. The first meeting of Pope and Corenswet's characters happens in a movie theater for gay cruising. Corenswet watches as Pope's character Coleman gets cruised by none other than Scott Riley.

Queer EyeQueer Eye on Celebrity FeudMikelle Street

We all love a good old school versus new school face off and Celebrity Family Feud is just the show to give it to us.

On Sunday, May 31 the Steve Harvey-hosted show is set to host the casts of the old and new iterations of Queer Eye in a face-off for charity. The hour-long episode will mark the premiere fo the sixth season of the competition show. While a new announcement video for the episode was clearly filmed while in quarantine, done via video conference, press photos show that the episode was actually filmed in studio.

"Are you ready for some big news?" Carson Kressley, who appeared in the original version of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy that premiered in 2003 on Bravo, said in the teaser. "I just scored some 2-ply."

Kresley will lead the original Queer Eye team while Bobby Berk leads the team from the new Netflix show.

The whole original squad is on deck with Kressley, Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, and Jai Rodriguez all playing to benefit The Trevor Project — it's worth mentioning that the organization has been racking in the coins having bagged at least $40,000 from RuPaul's Drag Race-related projects alone in the past two months. The Netflix Queer Eye crew does include a change to it though: Berk will be joined by Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, Tan France, and Wesley Hamilton. Yep, they swapped out Kamaro Brown with one of the people featured in season four of the show. Got it. That team will be playing to benefit GLSEN.

The episode will air Sunday, May 31 at 8 p.m.  and will be available on Hulu the next day.

I can't wait to see how this turns out.

*RuPaul's Drag Race season 12 has disqualified competitor Sherry Pie for misconduct of a sexual nature but she is still featured in episodic footage.

We're back, back, back again with a challenge from back in the day. Welcoming back: The Puppet's Bitch Fest.

Fresh off of the double shantay, the queens have returned to the Werk Room for their debrief in a new clip from RuPaul's Drag Race. After Jaida Essence Hall runs the girls her resume of wins — truly a versatile queen — Gigi Goode gets extremely real: formerly the top contender for the season's winner, the performer admits that she was a bit sad to see that both Jackie Cox and Heidi had stayed. (At this point we aren't sure if we should be calling her Heidi N. Closet, Heidi Ho, Heidi Go Lucky, or Heidi Afrodite.) Sure, Cox seems amazed by the statement but, it's true!! No elimination means tougher competition for longer.

In the mini-challenge Ru — who is firmly in the Heidi Afrodite camp (as are we) — tells the queens that they are to pick puppets that represent their competitors and give a good ole' fashion bitch fest. Miss Goode bombs horribly, and knows it. Sherry Pie expectedly knocks it out of the par with her cracks on Miss Afrodite. And while the rest of the contestants do decently, it's Cox who takes home the mini-challenge win. She keeps ending up in the bottom but Jackie Cox is a pretty smart comedy queen who is good with comedy on her feet. We love to see it.

This week on the Main Stage the queens will be expected to put on one-woman comedy shows. They will be judged and mentored by the one and only Whoopi Goldberg.

I can't wait to see how this turns out!
