Excerpts show the former editor taking aim at Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld.

Andre Leon Talley is an icon in the fashion industry. For a long time, he stood as the lone Black, queer man in the upper echelons of the industry — particularly within media. This story was told in part in the documentary Gospel According to Andre. But a new, buzzy memoir that not only tells the story of that rise but dishes on fashion personalities like Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld, from an insider's perspective, could turn that story into a television series.

The Chiffon Trenches: A Memoir has been the talk of the fashion industry for the past few weeks as excerpts have been viewed by tabloids like The Daily Mail. In their trademark style, the publication has splashed the dishiest aspects across the span of a few stories. In them, Talley seemingly takes aim at Conde Nast brass Wintour, his former boss. He details how she cut him off after his weight gain and he found himself without the massively influential woman who he considered his friend. He went on to say that he has emotional and psychological scarring and that today he would "love for her to say something human and sincere to me."

He also detailed how the late Lagerfeld also cut him off, seemingly for trying to get him to work with the late photographer Deborah Turbevlle. Lagerfeld and Talley had been notoriously close, Lagerfeld assisting the former editor when he was still making his way in Paris.

But the memoir is more than that according to WWD; it's Andre's full story. He writes about his fight in the industry at large as a Black man and delves into "racism, binge eating, weight discrimination, sexual abuse and ageism, among other issues." And apparently, people are interested!

WWD sources say that Hulu and Amazon are interested in developing the memoir into a streaming series.

“I’m aiming very high," Talley said of the idea. For his part, his dream cast includes Will Smith as himself.

Chiffon Trenches: A Memoir releases May 19.

Two down and two to go!

Tonight is the third episode of RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race. After a solid but sad lip sync from the season 12 queens dressed in the color purple — ba da psh — we are back with three new celebrities competing to win $30,000 for the charity of their choice. Add to it Untucked! which will also air tonight, and the All Stars season 5 cast list which was announced earlier today ... Fridays really are Ru's day!

Tonight, Dustin Milligan, Matt Iseman, and Alex Newell sashayed into the Werk Room for a roast! You may remember Milligan for his comedy on Schitt's Creek where he plays Ted Mullins. Iseman is also a comedian and notably won an episode of Lip Sync Battle proving that maybe he has a few things to show us. But Newell will certainly be one to keep an eye on given the fact that he is a singer, in addition to being a television actor and stage performer.

These contestants will be paired up with one of three Queen Supremes: Nina West, Kim Chi, and Bob the Drag Queen. Though quite a few fans criticized Bob's casting given that she appeared in the first episode — which like ... is a dumb criticism or whatever — the performer pointed out that she is a lauded comic and one of the best positioned, of all of the Drag Race alum to mentor someone else for a roast.

Contestants will compete in a mini-challenge before getting into full drag for the maxi challenge which is the roast. After the roast, the contestants will take to the Main Stage to walk the runway and compete in a lip sync.

*This post contains major spoilers from RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race episode 3.

A lot of hardcore fans were bummed when RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race kicked off. Many felt that the celebrities that were chosen in the first episode— for one reason or another — weren't the best fit for the level of the show. Combine that with a fact that it was the premiere episode and people didn't have very high hopes for the rest of the four-part series. But since, the show has been knocking it out of the part with every episode.

I want to be clear about something: the first episode was not bad! Once you got past your argument of whether the contestants were actual "celebrities" or not — guys, they were — it was pretty solid television. The performances were decent, the looks were great ... it was good drag! The second episode stepped things up in every aspect. We wouldn't venture so far as to say that the Dolly Parton Rusical was the best Rusical in the history of the show, but it was certainly up there! Combine that with contestants like Vanessa Williams, Loni Love, and Tami Roman? And an episode cameo by Parton herself?! Yeah, the good stuff. This all led us to episode three.

Because of an inadvertent leak, we already knew who the show's three contestants were: Dustin Milligan, Matt Iseman, and Alex Newell. Our expectations were high as all three are pretty experienced in terms of performance with varying levels of comedic ability. Add to that the fact that the Queen Supremes were Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, and Nina West and we were really set up for a quality roast!

And boy, did the show deliver.

In the episode, RuPaul remarked that the event was one of the best in Drag Race herstory. "That was the funniest ruoast we have ever had on this stage," she told the contestants after their runway presentations. And she was right.

Maybe it was the editing but there wasn't a wholly bad moment of all the sets. All three contestants, and all three of the Queen Supremes — who introduced them and transitioned the show — had joke after landed joke. Kim Chi's crack on RuPaul's short-lived talk show? *chef's kiss* Iseman as Betty Bordeaux doing their entire set ... ah, that's herstory!

Milligan, as Rachel McAdams Apple (someone needs to take the name Lucinda Butt which was another option he considered,) also had a pretty amazing set with a thread of continuity that had the audience reciting the key line by the end. All this with an iconic mug painted by, who we believe to be, Laila McQueen. And don't leave out Newell as Madame That Bitch. She is well experienced as a stage performer and let everyone in the cast feel a bit of the burn from her reads. And arguably, of all the contestants, she was feeling the fantasy the most — justifiably as her mug was also STAMPED, although we are unsure who to thank for it! (We are guessing Mayhem Miller.)

To make things better, it wasn't just the competition that made the episode a success. As drag does, the challenge, as well as the process of getting ready for the Main Stage, helped the three celebs address and tease out some internal conversations that were heartwarming to watch play out.

With all of this considered, it was little wonder that Ru split the prize three ways, awarding Milligan, Iseman, and Newell. And hey, if the finale is anything near to as good as this (or episode two,) you can expect us to tune in!

RuPaul's Drag RaceMayhem Miller and Ru from new Drag Race teaserMikelle Street

With all that happened Friday in the cinematic universe that is RuPaul's Drag Race, it was easy to miss something. To start it off All Stars announced that season five was headed back to VH1 and was bringing with it a pretty talented list of queens facing off against one another. Then season 12 of Drag Race aired its latest episode and put two of our favorites in the bottom. Sadly it wasn't the case of another sashay away. Following that Celebrity Drag Race put on the best roast we've seen in Drag Race herstory as a part of an overall amazing show. And we finished with Untucked! Well buried within all that was a little something extra.

As Drag Race aired, the show debuted a new teaser for the upcoming All Stars season. This was different from the RuVeal, and different from the re-Meet the Queens: First Day Feels special. Nope, this was wholly new. And within it, Ru promised what sounds like the gaggiest season yet. First up, let's go back and review the RuVeal as well as the Meet the Queens video.

Now, the new teaser.

So let's get into it!

"All Stars rules have been suspended forever!" Ru intones at the start of the teaser. The logical conclusion to draw here is that the process of Ru narrowing contestants down to the top two who then compete in a Lip Sync for Your Legacy, is now off the table. But then there's the call for someone to "RuVeal" themselves. Borrowing from Secret Celebrity Drag Race, a translucent screen is raised and a queen walks down the runway. What is going on up in here? Is Ru going to add queens mid-show? We would love to see it. And, according to a tweet from AS5 competitor, Shea Coulee, it's gaggier than we can imagine.

"Me: Looking at the comments from people saying they know they twist because they read spoilers," she wrote in a Tweet alongside a gif of Nene Leakes — note: we did not read the spoilers! But not long after, she followed it up with another tweet.

"Also Me: Anticipating their reactions when they find out there's a twist TO THE TWIST..." she wrote in a post using a gif of Tiffany Pollard.

This is either going to be really good or really bad, but given how Celebrity Drag Race is going we are betting on the former.

*This post contains spoilers from the latest episode of RuPaul's Drag Race season 12.

The writing was on the wall. It truly was.

After a heartwarming turn on season 12 of RuPaul's Drag Race, small town queen Heidi N. Closet-Ho-Hydrates-Afrodite has finally been sent home. The move comes after the performer awed viewers not only with her performance ability, but also her comedy and personality, quickly becoming the heart of the season— the combination seemingly makes her a shoe-in for the season's Miss Congeniality.

Heidi's trajectory on Drag Race was one of marked improvement. Though her dance ability was known by all via her debut, her aesthetics — which she initially struggled with — gradually upped as well. On her final runway, the competitor wore one of her strongest gowns of the season, leading Michelle Visage, who is notably the harshest critic, to give Heidi her due. Still, four times in the bottom is usually a nonstarter — especially when you're going against a star performer like Jaida Essence Hall.

Here, we talk to Heidi about what it was like to have the world fall in love with her, what she was able to bring to the show, and whether or not she's changing her name like RuPaul pushed her to.

What has the response been like so far? Everyone seems to really be in love with you.

The response has been something that I never would have expected and has been overwhelmingly positive. I am happy to receive so much love and I’m hoping I can give it all back. I’m enjoying every last second of it.

Do you feel like you showed what you hoped to show in the competition?

Yes! Everything I came to show, I did. I showed I can dance, that I have talent and I wanted to show the world who I was as a person and I feel like I did that in spades.

Do you think that coming from a small-town had you at a disadvantage?

It had its ups and downs. From a small town you don’t have the same resources, but you also don't have to go in with the pressure of feeling like you have to make a city proud so it is definitely a double-edged sword.

Are you going to change your name? And what was that like to have Ru constantly insist that you do?

The season is not over, so you may just need to keep tuning in to find out if the name has changed. Ru may have not liked the original name, but at least he knew my name and I knew I wasn’t going to be forgotten.

You spoke about the fact that you only made $9,000 last year — what was it like making over half of that in one night? Can you talk about how Drag Race changed your life in terms of finances?

It was incredible. It was definitely a life changing experience and opened my eyes to so many things that I am capable of. It gave me a platform to reach so many people and to be a spokesperson for people like me.

What’s the must-see or must-do in Ramseur, North Carolina?

Oh honey! The gas station I worked at is pretty nice I guess!

Are you ready for Mama Hytes?

RuPaul's Drag RaceBrooke Lynn Hytes photoMikelle Street

Looks like RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars season 5 isn't the only pageant revving its engines — Canada's Drag Race is on its way as well. First announced last year, the latest iteration of the show just debuted its first look.

If for nothing else, Canada's Drag Race will make history as the first version of the show to have an alum of the franchise as a permanent host; welcome your Queen In the North, Brooke Lynn Hytes. The season 11 runner-up joins Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Stacey McKenzie on the panel, and apparently, it came after she suggested the idea at the World of Wonder offices.

"When you get on Drag Race, the clock is ticking," Hytes told Entertainment Weekly in an interview. "You’re given 15 minutes of fame and you have to do something with it or not, it’s up to you to figure out how you’re going to make this last for yourself and turn it into a huge career." So, in 2019 when she was visiting the offices of the production company that created the Drag Race world, she told the employees there that she dreamed of hosting a Canadian version. And while official releases have yet to call her the host exactly, she's pretty freaking close! Apparently, we aren't set to see an all-powerful Ru-esque host.

"We’re all RuPaul, put together," Hytes said. "Not one of us has all the power. It’s a team effort. We all take turns sharing duties, and we all make decisions together!" For superfans, this seems like an extension of Drag Race Thailand which has two co-hosts as opposed to one Ru.

Like the Thailand version of the show — which should have already aired its third season but we have heard nothing about it — challenges will be similar to ones that American fans are used to.

"I think that the essence of the challenges is similar to RuPaul’s Drag Race, but they’re specific to Canada," Boyer-Chapman, who has judged the original two times, said. "There are instantly recognizable Easter eggs for Canadians, but they’re universally comedic enough that other audiences won’t be left out of the joke. Seeing these queens perform, this isn’t Drag Race-lite, this is Drag Race full-stop!"

The judges also promise a diverse lineup of queens from all over the nation. No word on when the show will debut. (Nor who the Pit Crew is.)

Ryan Murphy Talks Netflix's Hollywood Season 2 Possibilities

Executive producer Janet Mock has also been tweeting about it.

When Netflix's Hollywood hit, it was billed as a limited series. The latest production of the streamer's big-budget deal with Ryan Murphy, the show, which presents a purposefully revise history for Tinseltown was supposed to just be a one and done. But after the show's release, fans have been hoping for more.

Hollywood is a bit of a cotton candy drama; it leaves viewers with he warm and fuzzies after viewing a world that we like to think could have been. The people we are rooting for all get what we feel they deserve, and without too much focus on the negative. It's real resonance, outside of this thought exercise, is in shining a light on sometimes-forgotten (or unknown) queer figures. And fans have sopped it all up.

“Well Hollywood was planned as a limited series, but it’s become so popular that everyone is asking for another season," Murphy wrote in an Instagram caption responding to a fan who asked about more episodes “So who knows? I sure do love this cast though.”

Murphy loving the cast doesn't really mean too much: he's sort of known introducing performers into his cinematic world and then reusing them. He's worked with the majority of these actors before, and already has them onboard for ongoing projects. — Dylan McDermott, who plays Ernie in Hollywood, has already been cast in what seems to be a steamy new show featuring Leslie Jordan.

Ok, but what if there was a season two for the sake of argument. Will we get to see Archie Coleman and Rock Hudson married and with kids?

"I would never follow the characters again,"Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter."But, 20 years from there? I don’t know. It’s not something I’m thinking about; Netflix and I have not even discussed it and nor would we unless it had some huge success. I’ve done these anthology shows like American Horror Story and American Crime Story, and this was not designed like that. This was designed to be seven episodes. That’s kind of what it is."

But, of course, Murphy isn't the only cook in the kitchen. Frequent collaborator Janet Mock was also an executive producer on the show and has ideas for a second go. When a fan suggested making it an anthology series Mock was onboard.

"We have a very similar vision," she tweeted. "IF we were to tell another Hollywood story."

It's been almost a year since the premiere of Pose's season two on FX. A whole year! Can you believe? The drama series, which made history for its casting of black and brown queer and trans people in recurring roles, brought us all back to the ballroom floor last June, showing us what was next for Blanca Evangelista, Pray Tell, Candy Ferocity, and Elektra ... well ... we aren't sure which name she was using at the time. And the premiere was freaking good.

Now, you can relive it all over again.

Today, Netflix has announced that season two of the critically-lauded show will begin streaming in the U.S. on June 11. Yep, not too long before you can watch and rewatch your favorite Elektra reads at will. And though we would generally say this is the perfect opportunity for you to refresh yourself on what all happened before season three hits, this time we aren't so sure.

Pose was renewed for a third season, only one episode into its second. That first episode touted the show's best ratings ever at the time, outperforming the show's season one debut. And, just at a time that the creators decided to go all-in on ballroom.

That said, though it was renewed, Pose is not likely to have gotten much work done on season three. Though it was clear on social media that the cast had reunited, and that the writers were doing their work, it would seem to us that much of the time that the show should have been in actual production was after quarantine set in. We can't say for sure but, we have a strong feeling that the show is going to have to be pushed back.

Until then, we'll always have Netflix. (P.S. If you haven't seen season two yet, we worked really hard to not spoil anything. Refresh yourself on what happened in season one here.)

"Asia's first streaming platform" has now gone global.

There's so much streaming content out there. So much! Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Quibi, all of HBO's various services. That's not counting more niche platforms like WOW Presents Plus, which brings all things drag straight to your device. And now, telling all of the Asian queer stories we need right now, there's GagaOOLala.

GagaOOLala actually isn't new. The service was founded in 2016 in Taiwan — in fact one of the co-founders, Jay Lin, helped to start Taiwan's International Queer Film Festival.

"There was a lack of LGBTQ+ content available all year round in Taiwan and the rest of Asia," Lin said in a release — he is the CEO of Portico Media, the company behind GagaOOLala. "A physical film festival happening during a few days was not the solution, we needed something 24/7. The situation in many Asian countries is still dire, in some of them, homosexuality is still considered a crime. We needed to provide easier access to LGBTQ+ stories to let them know they are not alone." Enter this streaming service.

The site, like other streaming platforms, serves as a space to access content that they only serve as distributors for, in addition to original material. And this collection of feature films, short films, and series — animated Japanese fiction genres are included — hail from Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, China, the Philippines, and more. And it's lauded work: The Teacher was a GagaOOLala original film that was nominated for several Golden Horse Awards and took home one — the award show is Taiwan's equivalent to the Oscars. Now, the service will launch globally.

For $6.99, users can watch the films and shows with English or Chinese subtitles with more languages coming soon — a ree version of the service boasts more than 30 films as well. The launch was timed to the one-year anniversary of Taiwan passing marriage equality. The move made the country the first in Asia to do so.  In celebration of that anniversary, the streamer will launch Taiwan Equals Love, an original documentary that follows the island's path to allowing same-sex marriages.

RuPaul's Drag RaceDrag RAce tripMikelle Street

Over the last few seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race, outside of the premiere, one of the most anticipated episodes of Drag Race is the finale. In a Project Runway-esque format, the queens film all the episodes on set, then go home for a bit and reconvene to film the finale with a live audience in a lip sync showdown. It's given us iconic moments like Sasha Velour's "So Emotional." This comes in addition to a reunion episode where the queens all gather together in a studio to either settle their disagreements or start new ones. But with the ongoing pandemic, both are basically impossible.

Now, the show has revealed its virtual update.

For season 12, the show's reunion is taking us back to high school; slumber party anyone?! On May 22, the series will host a virtual slumber party where the queens chat with Ru about the season, live while social distancing, and "shocking eliminations," while also answering questions from fans. If the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion was any indication, this doesn't mean that all the fighting will be lost, so we'll just have to see.

The reunion is also virtual using "innovative technology that highlights the creativity of the queens," a release says. There will be a lip sync battle for the crown — come on Zoom background reveal — and special guest appearances. In addition to those unnamed guests, Yvie Oddly returns to hand off her crown as season 11 winner, and Nina West does the same as Miss Congeniality. (We totally anticipate Heidi N. Closet taking home that $10,000 check from Pantene.)

The release also notes that Pantene has a "special surprise" for the 11 other queens.

Can't wait to see how this turns out.

Well kids we did it, the four-part RuPaul's Secret Drag Race special is over and we aren't sure we are happy about it. The show, which takes previously unannounced celebrities and has them get into full drag while competing for $30,000 towards a charity of their choice, has really grown on us. And now, with tonight's installment, it seems like its all over — hopefully it gets picked up for another season next year.

For the final installment, Celebrity Drag Race boasted Alyssa Edwards, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, and Monique Heart as Queen Supremes. In these roles they are to help mentor and guide the celebrities through the challenges and in getting into drag. As has been revealed, they aren't the only ones though as behind the scenes, the likes of Shannel, Mayhem Miller, and Laila McQueen help out as well. According to his Instagram even hairstylist to RuPaul, Curtis William Foreman, has done a little work styling wigs for the celebrities.

For tonight's episode, as Out previously reported, singer Madison Beer, singer Hayley Kiyoko, as well as comedian and 2 Dope Queens co-host Phoebe Robinson, are the featured celebrities. All three will compete in a "Dragzilla"-themed maxi-challenge

At the end of the night, one will be crowned winner and win $30,000 and the final title of America's Next Celebrity Drag Race Superstar. The title comes with a crown and scepter. The third episode of the series saw the title split three ways in a first-ever three-way tie. While that was arguably deserved, we hope we don't have a repeat tonight!

BallroomStills from Legendary trailerMikelle Street

The road to Legendary is almost over! Today the new HBO Max show has debuted its latest trailer as well as its history-making grand prize.

For those who missed the news, Legendary is television's first competition show based on the ballroom scene. It will feature eight houses competing in a series of categories incluing performance (that's voguing), runway, fashion, and face. It will all happen over the span of nine balls and, according to the new trailer, the winning house will be awarded a whopping $100,000.

Cash prizes are nothing new to ballrooom — most balls in America have some sort of coin awarded to winners. But this $100,000 grand prize marks the first six-figure. Up until now, the largest bag that's been given away is $10,000, most recently split between DeeDee and Erykah Lanvin for the Rihanna-sponsored open-to-all face category at the Miyake-Mugler ball in 2019.

Of course, alongside all the competing, we are introduced to the teams.

"Ballroom tells a story," a voice says in the trailer.

"Ballroom taught me how to be me," Calypso Lanvin echoes.

The judges for the show include Megan Thee Stallion, Jameela Jamil, Law Roach, and Leiomy Maldonado. Dashaun Wesley performs as host and MC for the series.

"One of you will make history," Wesley, who is a father in the house of Lanvin, says on the mic. "While the other one will become history."

The series launches May 27 alongside the rest of HBO Max's first wave of content. There's no announcement yet on whether episodes will release weekly or all at once.

In case you have time and attention for a new show, Facebook and YouTube have got you covered. Adding to the plethora of shows that feature drag queens currently in the ether now comes Served! With Jade Thirwall, a cooking competition featuring the Little Mix singer. In the show, Thirwall will grill drag performers with questions as they battle it out in the kitchen.

The project, which will air on MTV UK's Facebook Watch and MTV International's YouTube channel, has already announced a few RuPaul's Drag Race alum as competitors. Courtney Act, Alyssa Edwards, and The Vivienne  — who won the debut season of Drag Race U.K.— have all been confirmed. On each 11-minute episode, they will prepare a themed dinner from a package of mystery ingredients. Sample themes include "Girlband Glamorama" and "Eighties Eleganza."

"I’m so excited to have some of my favorite people on board to serve you some virtual dinner party realness", Thirwall said in a statement. But the queens aren't the only people she's talking about; Tan France from Netflix's Queer Eye, Mel C from Spice Girls, and actress Alyssa Milano will all make appearances.

"I cannot wait to show you what (and who) we’ve got in store," Thirwall said. "It’s been such a laugh to film and I hope this brings people at home some light-hearted entertainment whilst indoors."

The series will begin to stream on May 28. The project is a part of ViacomCBS' plans to celebrate Global Pride and is a "self-filmed" project.

Elite NetflixnetflixElite goodbye videoMikelle Street

Season three of Netflix's high school drama Elite wrapped up a lot of strings. About half of the cast was graduating from Las Ciencias, the school where all the action was based. A few of the characters had died and the rest seemed ready to happily finish out their schooling. But, the thing is, there's already been pretty rampant speculation about season's four and five. Now, a new goodbye video from the show could wink at that idea.

In a slightly emotional video posted to the Netflix Twitter account, the cast gives a few tearful goodbyes.

"It was a real pleasure working with you," Danna Paola, the actress who plays Lucrecia in the series, says to the cast and crew in the video. The footage seems to have been taken from backstage of what we assume is the last day of filming. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you."

"I want to tell Carla that she is an incredible character and an incredible woman," Ester Exposito, who plays Carla, says. "I would love to be like her. And I love her, I love her."

Others, like Jorge Lopez who plays Valerio, and Alvaro Rico who plays Polo also have things to say.

" wish that she can reach the point where she can really be happy doing what she wants in the future," Mina El Hammani, who plays Nadia says. "So let's live life Nadia!" And while that's quite a few castmates, there are a few important ones who have yet to say their goodbyes.

At the end of season three, Omar, Ander, Guzman, Rebeka, and Cayetana are all, for some reason or another, still at Las Ciencias. So if the show were to continue, still set at the school, their characters would be the ones still involved. It's curious that none of the actors who play those roles say any goodbyes. Maybe because we should expect them to make their returns?!

The queer star of the CW series faced considerable backlash on social media when she was cast in the role.

Ruby Rose, the queer star of the CW’s Batwoman, which features TV’s first lesbian superhero in the lead role, announced in a statement that she will not return for the show’s second season. Now, the search is on for a new Kate Kane, a.k.a. Batwoman.

“I have made the very difficult decision to not return to Batwoman next season," Rose said in a statement. "This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles."

“I am beyond appreciative to Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Caroline Dries for not only giving me this incredible opportunity, but for welcoming me into the DC universe they have so beautifully created."  Rose continued, also thanking the CW and Warner Bros.

"Thank you to everyone who made season one a success — I am truly grateful," she said.

While Rose neglected to explain why she wouldn’t return to the series, she did say last September that she had undergone surgery for two herniated discs. Ratings for the series averaged 0.5 among adults 18-49. That put it behind the long-running Arrow and The Flash, according to Variety.

There was considerable outcry on social media when Rose, who is genderfluid and a lesbian, was cast in the role. She was met with tweets from some who seemed not to know that she was queer and many complaining that she wasn’t the right kind of queer person.  A few Twitter users alleged that she was cast merely because she’s “well-known and liked by straight girls.”'

She was also criticized for comments that seemed to infer the role would minimize the sexuality of the character

Last September as the series was premiering, Rose addressed the backlash.

“I didn’t really care because I worked really hard to get the role. I really wanted to do the role. It’s a dream role,” Rose said. “I’ve said it before, but I’m not going to be on my deathbed wishing that people on the internet liked me more,” she added.

Rose has exited the series, but the studio is committed to find a new star to fill the bat suit.

“Warner Bros. Television, the CW and Berlanti Productions thank Ruby for her contributions to the success of our first season and wish her all the best,” the three companies said in a joint statement. “The studio and network are firmly committed to Batwoman’s second season and long-term future, and we — along with the show’s talented creative team — look forward to sharing its new direction, including the casting of a new lead actress and member of the LGBTQ community, in the coming months.”

"I've had to suffer through so many straight sex scenes and now everyone else has to pay," says creator Ryan O'Connell.

When Netflix's Special debuted last year it was groundbreaking for a variety of reasons but primarily for who it centered: a gay man living with a disability. The half-hour series was based on creator Ryan O'Connell's 2015 memoir I'm Special: And Other Lies We Tell Ourselves and was equal parts comedic and heartwarming. Viewers fell in love, particularly with the care that was put into navigating the show's sex scenes. Netflix even commissioned a second season. And then the pandemic happened.

Now O'Connell is revealing what's all been done.

According to a new interview with the writer and star of the series, for out of Specia's upcoming eight episodes are already done! In act, O'Connell has been editing them already. They include the help of a writer's room — O'Connell wrote the entire first season alone — and apparently  "a lot more gay sex" in store for fans.

"I think anything that still has a stigma attached to it just naturally excites me," O'Connell told Entertainment Weekly."I think there shouldn't be any of that, especially with gay sex. I've had to suffer through so many straight sex scenes and now everyone else has to pay."

Don't know that we mind that!

The sad part of it all is that with only half of production finished, there's no timeline on when the second season will see the light of day. Hardcore fans might be happy to know that the creative is already working on other projects. There are a new show and novel in the works.

"It’s too early to say anything, it's like barely a thing," he says of the show which he recently pitched.

Well, just know that as soon as you're ready, we're here to listen!

RuPaul's Drag RaceRuPaul Drag Race All StarsMikelle Street

Ahead of RuPaul Drag Race season 12's finale episode, the franchise has released the latest news and first full trailer for All Stars 5 and boy is it a doozy. After teasing the suspension of All Stars rules in a prior clip, the show has laid it all out. But since there's so much packed into one announcement, here we've broken it all down.

Who are the judges?

Every season of Drag Race the judges — particularly the judge in the premiere episode — seems to get better and better. With the recent announcement, looks like we are still on that trajectory. Multiple Grammy award-winning artist, noted dad, and global superstar Ricky Martin will judge the season's first episode set to feature a reading mini-challenge and "Werq the World" variety show.

As the season goes on, expect to see Tessa Thompson, Madison Beer, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Nicole Byer, Sarah Hyland, Tommy Dorfman, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, Bebe Rexha, Jane Krakowski, Sam Richardson, and Todrick Hall as guests.

RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley and Ross Matthews will return as regular judges.

Who is competing?

So there's actually two levels to this! On one hand, the competitors have already been announced. Mayhem Miller, Miz Cracker, Shea Coulee, Ongina, Mariah Balenciaga, India Ferrah, Jujubee, Alexis Mateo, Blair St. Clair, and Derrick Barry will all face-off for the crown. And while they will no doubt put up some fierce competition, there is another way of competitors that will also perform on the show. Welcome to the first of many twists.

What are the twists?

In a teaser, RuPaul announced the suspension of All Stars rules. Now it's been revealed that has multiple meanings. First up, according to a release, for this season lip syncs will be against the top queen and a secret lip sync assassin. If the top queen wins they get to send one of the bottom queens home and win a $10,000 tip. If they lose, the bottom queen will be chosen by a (second twist) secret group, and the $10,000 tip will roll over to the next week.

Out has reached out to Drag Race to clarify whether these unclaimed tips will add up week after week and whether the assasins win anything for their troubles.

When and where will it air?

Though it was originally announced to air on Showtime, All Stars season 5 will return to VH1 on Friday, June 5. Ahead of the premiere, there will be an All Stars marathon with episodes from every season beginning on May 30 at 6 a.m. on Logo. Directly ahead of the premiere Monet X Change and Trinity the Tuck will host a movie marathon of Legally Blonde, 27 Dresses, and The Devil Wears Prada on VH1.
