What is your RuPaul’s Drag Race season 9 winner up to, you ask? Well, she's readying the launch of her new television show, in a wave of drag-related programming about to be pushed out into the world. Welcome: NightGowns with Sasha Velour.

NightGowns is a well known drag revue that Velour created back in 2015. It prizes a different type of drag than that propogated by Drag Race: it is defined by its inclusiveness, and its ability to drag artists to experiment and immerse their audiences in worlds of their own creation. And now that revue is coming to screens — and the smallest screens at that.

NightGowns with Sasha Velour is a new streaming series that chronicles how Velour adapted the revue into a stage production. Episode by episode, the show breaks down eight “must-watch performances” zeroing in on the artists that the show was built around. This is all set to hit the new mobile streaming platform Quibi in April.

In the new teaser trailer, fans get a taste of the series: this isn’t some blurred, last minute after thought of a show, she’s giving you production!

“We’re transforming a system that doesn’t work for us,” Velour says in the trailer, likely explaining the whole point of NightGowns. “I’ve always had a vision for what NightGowns could be, where each number feels like a completely different universe.” And this show, will show how that was put into practice.

The show will join others include all of the Drag Race seasons, AJ and the Queen on Netflix, the longrunning UNHhhh from Trixie Mattel and Katya, a new fashion commentary series from Willam that's also on Quibi, and a cross-country roadtrip of an HBO show featuring Shangela, Bob the Drag Queen, and Eureka, all showcasing drag this year.
