The 'Schitt's Creek'-creator was recently named one of the most powerful showrunners in Hollywood.

This year has seen the Schitt's Creek creator publicly on a bit of a victory lap after the release of the final season of his hit show, and a pretty successful one. He knocked it out of the park with a history-making night of wins at the Emmy awards. Then he went on to appear in an HBO special alongside Sarah Paulson and has slot in Clea DuVall's upcoming Happiest Season. But apparently, he's been busily at work behind the scenes as well.
In a new feature, The Hollywood Reporter named Levy as one of the 50 most powerful showrunners of 2020.
"I think Schitt's Creek is the perfect example of a show that proved TV needs time and space to grow," Levy said as a part of a feature. "Some shows require more real estate to tell their stories properly, to earn the character arcs, to slow burn their audience. I would love to see more patience given to TV shows in their early days." Well, he has some new shows that need some real estate.
Hollywood Reporter notes that Levy is "now prepping an expansive slate of originals — including one he plans to write himself — for ABC Studios." Those projects come as a part of eight-figure overall deal with the company.
Levy is joined on the list by megaproducers like Greg Berlanti and Ryan Murphy. They are joined by others like Lena Waithe and Darren Star, as well as Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger who are behind Love, Victor. Star notably created Netflix's Emily in Paris, while Waithe has the anthology Them: Covenant due out soon on Amazon.
